He made me cry.
At 17 I could not walk more than a few steps. This man made a point of having me come from a hospital, just to humiliate me in person about how he didn’t think anything was wrong with me and was refusing care. He was out the door in 30 seconds. I have POTS. Diagnosed by the Mayo Clinic. I’m 25, and the cruelty with which this man spoke to me is something I will never forget. Having now been chronically ill for 8 years, I’ve seen a lot of doctors in Gainesville and have many who I love. Jeremy Melker is one of the most heartless human beings I’ve ever encountered.

Very disappointed. Didn't even offer to take BP even after I told him it has been very high. Did not like it when i asked questions. Had no idea how to help me with my problem.

I found him to be arrogant, condescending, and insulting. I was charged full fee for a partial procedure. The reason for the visit was never diagnosed and treated. I'm about 225 lbs 5'7" and he was obsessed with my weight. He told me I don't look like I drink a gallon of water a day. I'm still trying to find out what a person that drinks a gallon a day looks like. I don't like him.

Sometimes I wonder if some of these people who have left questionable reviews have actually seen the same Dr. Melker I have. He has never dealt with auditory problems because he has had an audiologist. I know because my mother was a part of his practice and that is who she saw. Dr. Melker has always been a very caring, no bullsh*t doctor who would tell you what you needed and not have you waste money on other solutions that don't and won't work. I have been a patient who has had a main sinus surgery that included a deviated septum correction and 2 revision surgeries for sinus polyps. He won't just prescribe meds over the phone. I know when I have a sinus infection but he has to see it and diagnosis it before he will just hand out meds like candy. I haven't had to see him for awhile, but I really should for a nasal check up. I trust him with my life. My mother trusted him with hers and I trusted him with my daughter's she had her tonsils removed.

My mom Doris Hampton went to Dr. Melker 2005, she had thyroid cancer in her eighties, Dr. Melker operated on her, and she is still living, she is 96 years never had any problems with her throat. I understand her picture is still hanging up in his office, he was great to my mom, and we never had to wait a long time for a visit in his office, he was very kind to us.

This "Doctor" knew my daughter was only being released from the hospital to see him. She was carried in by my husband. We waited in the waiting room and then his office for him to come in to tell us he was refusing care. He could have called to tell us that. Instead he had us carry in our critically ill child just to humiliate us with his pompous self righteous attitude. He should lose his license.

Dr Melker appears to have good diagnostic tools in determining the root cause of a problem, but his interpersonal skills are lacking. Having worked in healthcare for decades, he's one of those automaton type physicians who values his timetable and standard methods and presentations over questions from his patient. He's way too eager to get me into a hearing aid, when my pocketbook is not ready for all he prescribes.

The front office staff was welcoming and professional, however the new patient agreement leaves something to be desired. New patients are required to sign an arbitration agreement that explicitly states the patient waives their constitutional right to use the courts for redress of injury and have justice administered without sale, denial or delay. They request extensive credit card information to bill you and force patients to request privacy policies. Trust does not appear high at this practice

I have just had my yearly review following an operation performed by Dr. Melker. Still the same efficient service getting me in to the office, for an on time appt. with minimum wait. Dr. Melker clearly and concisely went through everything with me, during our conversation he was recalling events from the previous visit a year ago, certainly makes a good impression with this patient. Very pleased and confident I have him looking after me.

I would not recommend him to anyone. My first unremarkable office visit was $1000, which was $500 above insurance allowable and thus had to be paid by me. He was pleasant enough, but in no way did the visit warrant that price tag.

Dr. Melker is the best ear doctor I have ever had. I trust him completely because he always take the time to insure a painless visit. He always explains everything so that I understand it. I have been seeing him for several years. I was living in Newberry when I first had him treat me and then I moved to Citrus Springs, but I still travel to his Gainesville office every six months to have my ears checked and cleaned.

Dr. Melker starts out great. But he doesn't seem to like it if you have specific questions. He tends to get testy. Especially when he can't help with your problem and you're wondering why you went to him and spent all that money.

This doctor is obviously qualified but appears to be stuck in the medicare program and demands. He wants to have abrupt answers-no diversions. In short -there is little interest beyond the FACTS as asked.and recorded. I need expertise so I will sacrifice personality and communication.
