Dr. Jason McConnell, MD

Doctor was very short and seemed rushed. Spent less than 5 minutes with me for serious hip pain. Said an MRI was needed and office would call. I finally left messages and got ahold of them days later. Over a 2 week wait. Ridiculous. This was an injury and he treated it like it was arthritis. Appointment still 12 days off and scheduling said they could not do any sooner.

On time, excellent at explaining what the problem is and care needed.

I and my son have been treated by Dr.'s Knox, McConnell and Franklin on multiple occasions. We would highly recommend all of them. We are an active family and certainly do our part in keeping these guys busy. They have always been very kind, professional and have made an appropriate diagnosis. They have always offered conservative treatment options first & have followed up with additional treatments when necessary. I have had arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgeries & have had excellent outcomes from both. My son and I have also been treated for other minor orthopedic injuries on 3 other occasions. Every time, we have had an excellent experience.

The worst. A year ago, he performed a thumb to wrist surgery which involved bone removal, forearm tendon harvest & transfer, & fusion. I have been in constant pain (worse than before surgery) for a year now & my left thumb/wrist/forearm is virtually useless. After months in a cast, Dr. McConnell had it removed BEFORE x-rays were taken & it was determined that the fusion wasn't quite complete so he put me in a large hard brace for another month. At my last office visit he discharged the Home Health OT with whom I had been working without asking me how I was progressing (not at all) or examining (not even a glance) me! I asked him if I should continue the OT exercises & could he suggest strengthening exercises since I am wheelchair-bound & am unable to use my arm to lift the levers on the left side. He barked at me "Just use it!" Arrogant, uncaring, dismissive. Never went back. Have had 14 surgeries inc. multiple spine surgeries & feel confident in my assessment. Looking for 2nd opinion

First visit received an injection. Second visit going to try oral meds. Joint pain in index finger very painful at times. Comes and goes with usage. Very satisfied with treatment plan so far.

I cannot recommend Dr. McConnell. He didn't spend hardly anytime with me and it was hard to get him to answer questions or go over treatment plans. No follow up on phone calls, appointments, etc. Not impressed at all. Nurse was very uncaring and not very responsive to phone calls. ??

one of the worst doctors I've ever been to. My shoulder was hurt and he never looked at my shoulder during office visit. He simply referred me to a surgeon in Springfield which took 5 months to get into and because dr McConnell didn't do his job properly the surgeon couldn't help.

He recommended a major surgery that a second opinion revealed was not necessary. I think he is only interested in money, not true patient care. I wouldn't recommend him at all to anyone ever. His nurse is incompetent and doesn't return calls in a timely manner.
