MISDIAGNOSIS !
Dr. Jane Chew should NOT be practicing Dermatology. She and her partner both misdiagnosed Squamous cell in my neck. I knew it was an issue because it felt like cotton under my skin. The very next day I went to Dr. Paul Rusonis and he knew by touch that it was indeed Squamous cell cancer. He did a Biopsy and recommended that I immediately set up an appointment for Moh's surgery. The results confirmed that it was Squamous cell cancer. And the Cancer was successfully removed.

Extreme Rush - no chance for asking questions
Every time I see her, she is in an extreme rush - like she is in physical pain to have your appointment go on for more than 1 minute. I knew she doesn't really answer questions so I told the medical assistant what my questions were and that I wanted to ask some, and Dr. Chew did not answer them. I began to try to ask and she immediately ended the appointment. Don't go to her if you want to have a conversation or to have questions answered. Guess we are all just $$ to her.

Talking about a quickie!
I read the negative reviews only after my first visit and found them all to be true. She put me out by count of three!

So Glad I Switched To Dr. Chew.
Dr. Chew is amazing! I've seen many Dermatologists over the years and most were condescending. The last few offices have been run by a PA, and while they seem knowledgeable, the visits were filled with fancy medical terminology that actually meant nothing to me. They're quick to use the Cryotherapy sprayer. It burns and often times is used to the point of extreme discomfort. Dr. Chew was quick, efficient and very down to earth. She found 3 areas of concern and took care of it so gently. Most offices make you schedule a 2nd appt to discuss skin care; not Dr. Chew. When I asked about scheduling, she simply said, "I'm right here, what are your questions?" She proceeded to give me many OTC options that were printed out for patient ease. If you're not happy with your current Dermatologist, make the switch to Dr. Chew. The front office staff is kind and efficient and even say goodbye on your way out. The medical assistant, Jesse was very sweet! Can't wait to see them all again next year!

Missed Diagnosis
Dr Chew was very unfriendly, but mostly unthorough. I had been seeing her for a few years and thought her exam was way too quick. I tried another Dr. after that, and the mark that had been on my lower back all along happened to be cancer. I ended up having the Mohs Surgery.

The PA Anna was the worst medical provider i have ever heard of or met. I have never met a more rude, condescending and snarky medical provider in my life. All the negative reviews that say she has an attitude are there because of a reason. Normal medical providers listen, answer questions, are not defensive but try to help patients solve the concerns they have. She does not care about patient care, told me she refused to answer any of my questions, made an error instead of admitting her error, she mocked me. She was condescending when asking her questions was defensive about treatment. I don't know why this person is treating patients when they obviously don't want to treat patients.

Terrible - she rushes you through appointments and doesn't care at all. Tells you not to worry about anything that you have and doesn't care about anything you are concerned about. DO NOT GO TO HER. It is a waste of time. Awful doctor.

I have seen many dermatologists and Dr. Chew is FAR from the best. She rushed through all my appointments and I did not feel confident in her clinical decision making. I spoke to her on the phone once when I was in school out of state (and could not come into the office) and she was unwilling to help me or make suggestions of where I could seek out local care. Would NOT recommend her.

I didn't feel a lot of confidence from her, in fact I feel like she was giving me an attitude. I saw her for barely a few minutes, felt incredibly rushed in the appointment. She prescribed me medicine that would have made my condition much worse if I did not luckily do my research. Her staff wasn't very kind either, the nurse who did the intake kept giving me the dirtiest look. Do not recommend

I am surprised to see bad reviews because I've been a patient for years and have only had great experiences. Dr. Chew and her PAs are always friendly and knowledgeable and they attentively listen to all my concerns. I get regular skin checks and have had cysts removed as well. All appointments are smooth and professional!

It is unfortunate when a doctor is resistent to listen to a patient's unique concerns, whether a longtime patient or new patient, just because they do not present symptoms that "they" are commonly aware of. I felt dismissed w/no recommendations of other options to explore. She was a second opinion for an urgent issue, waiting a month for. This was something often misdiagnosed. I paid out of pocket to try resolve this issue that was becoming more concerning as my healthplan was not accepted.

I spent 50 minutes waiting to be seen. The PA spent 8 minutes with me, made a quick diagnosis that wasn't any better than my google search and told me to comeback. She didn't even get some information about a skin infection I had recently that may relate to the problem. I'm not returning and going for a second opinion.

My visit was very smooth. The staff was friendly, for a doctor's office. I appreciated the quick and thorough skin check that I definitely needed because of my fair skin. A fantastic, informative, understanding, and efficient visit! I recommend this adept physician to anyone looking for advice on their skin.

Husband and I went to Dr Chew for diagnosis of scalp problems. She was the rudest and most insulting doctor we have ever met in our 40 years of doctor visits in Columbia MD. She said she could refer us to another doctor if we didn't accept her diagnosis (which was wrong). She insinuated we needed a psychological evaluation for an imaginary condition. Went to another dermatologist in Ellicott City and was correctly diagnosed and properly treated. Stay away!

For my initial visit I was seen by one of the assistants for an infection. She aspirated the wound for analysis. My follow up was with Dr. Chew. There was a preliminary diagnosis to be discussed. After a cursory greeting, she started discussing the issue. I had to correct her twice and brought up the diagnosis to which she exclaimed, "now I remember...". She was unprepared and curt. I would not recommend her.
