Dr. Jan Dank, MD

Terrible experience with this medical practice over a two-month period! Hard to get in touch with staff, calls go to voicemail and there was a long wait at my appointment time. Dr Hecht accepted me as a new patient, said she would do the procedure and took my $125. The next day, the staff said she was not accepting new patients and wanted to pass me off to a PA for my procedure. I asked for a refund and was then told it was a staff error and the Dr was taking new patients. I made an appointment for the procedure and made arrangements in my schedule to attend. I received a voicemail several weeks later that my appointment was cancelled, the Dr was not taking new patients and they rescheduled me at a time that did not work for me with the PA. At this point I had lost all confidence in Dr Hecht and the staff and respectfully requested a refund so I could go to a different Dr. My request was denied. Oof, don’t go there!

Dr Dank was rude, impatient, and seemed to be in a foul mood—as though he hated his job and my use of his services. He made several assumptions about my situation and was frustrated and began acting like I was daft when his assumptions were wrong. I’m genuinely surprised that he still practices or is even wanted to practice with the way he handles himself. Will not be returning, and I’m going to recommend my doctor not to send more patients there.

My experience has been that he is condescending, rushed, and simply plain rude. Never have I been treated so poorly by a doctor. He doesn't actually want to discuss anything and I left feeling like I did something wrong, or was just a diseased patient he didn't want to deal with (I've had eczema my whole life). He is an inconsiderate jerk. I've been to many other dermatologists throughout my life and was never treated this way. He pushes patients through rudely without a care or thought about how he treats his patients. Just go read other reviews. I won't go to him and have him belittle me again.

He is like a web md robot. Comes in and reads a few paragraphs or prewritten stuff to you regardless of the uniqueness of your condition. Throws medication at you. And tell you to try it and schedule another appointment. No listening or dialogue what’s so over. Also very aggressive with his opinion, makes you afraid to question his methods or medication.

Dr. Dank is the best. Thorough, very knowledgable, experienced and explains everything very carefully. He discovered a cancer, and has taken care of me for many years for all my dermatology issues. Personable, professional. The entire team is superb, responsive, caring and professional.

I love Dr. Dank. He is very professional, conscientious and thorough. I don't understand some of these reviews. That sure was not my experience, not even close to that. The staff is amazing as well.

Knowledgable and excellent care

Very unprofessional and rude. Left blisters on my face. I felt very uncomfortable with him even with his nurse in the room. Would never suggest him to anyone I know. Wish I had read some of the reviews prior to appointment. Never asked me if I had any questions felt very rushed.

Dr. Dank Has been very professional and informative concerning my skin condition. He has helped me clear it up and monitors me for skin cancer. I am very pleased with him.

I've seen Dr. Dank three times and I'm surprised several patients left negative reviews. He's always been pleasant, professional, and very informative. He always helped me with my skin problem and I have recommended him to my friends.

Dr. Dank and his entire office was the worst medical experience I have had in my life. He was 30 minutes late seeing me, and we were interrupted multiple times by his unprofessional staff asking questions about other patients. Dr. Dank himself carried himself more like a fast-food cashier than a doctor. He couldn't make eye-contact, was sarcastic, aloof, careless, and contradicted himself on more than one occasion. If you need a dermatologist in Bellingham, DON'T GO HERE.

He barely looked at the area of my concern, sitting on a stool across the room and educating me about the problem. When I asked him if he would look at a spot on my face, I was told I would have to make another appointment. He ordered a blood test for me, and after 2 weeks , and no word, I called the office for my results. Amidst many apologies, I was told he would call me, which he did not. ( someone in his office did eventually call) I made an appointment with another dermatologist.
