Most amazing Doctor ever. Did spinal surgery on me in April 1986. T12 burst fracture and more from accident on my bicycle vs pickup truck. Just wanted to thank you for making it possible for me to live a happy and productive life. You were a blessing and great inspiration in my recovery. Still have those rods in my back. I’m seventy now with limited mobility but so grateful for the time you gave me with good mobility. Hope to make it into my eighty’s with these antiques in my back. Thanks again. Dr. Shook, God made you special and your talent amazing. You saved my husband Dennis spine from a car accident in 1987. You performed another great surgery to remove rods and arthritis again in 2004. To Mrs. Sterling: Your Son Ricky is in the hands of one of the Crown Jewels of Southern California in Dr. James Shook. Dr. Shook performed both hip replacement and lower spine surgeries on my aging body (eventual aftermath of playing college football and pedestrian survivor hit by a drunk driver) allowing me to truly know this fine man. He isn't just a gifted, courageous Ortho Surgeon. Dr. Shook emanates an aura and energy that heals a man's battered spirits during the process. My son, Ricky Sterling, is going to have surgery performed on his spine by Dr. Shook. Ricky has been paraplegic since he was two and a half. Recently Ricky has been very depressed, understandably, he's recently had his left foot removed and in the process, the rod broke in his back causing screws and metal pieces floating around in his body. And because of the rod being broke, it was constantly rubbing on his spine causing his spine to get rubbed so thin it broke. Ricky has been in this condition since they removed his foot in February 2018. He went to see his doctor in April 2019, when he came home I could hear the spark in his voice, he is so excited, Dr. Shook will be performing the surgery very soon, not only that, Dr. Shook will be stretching his spine so it will be straight instead of it being curved. I am so excited for my son and so grateful that Dr. Shook is available to do the surgery my son needs. Ricky has been bedridden since February 2018. Ricky just turned 31 years old

Dr Shook saved my son Jameson Steed, his spine was like the letter C, when specialists wanted to put him n a body cast, Dr Shook took on the surgery. Jameson is now 30, had the surgery at 15, doing great. We owe it all to Dr Shook. He even gave me his home phone number, which I thought was amazing. I called him at home, to tell him my son was turning blue, he wax so calm and went through all options of what it could be...turned out to be a new blue comforter! Love you Dr Shook. Keep being you!
