Dr. Jacob Wardwell, DO

Dr. Wardwell runs a 'regenerative medicine' practice and is ALSO a PCP. Most of what he does and bills for is not covered by insurance and he likes to up sell procedures that may not be necessary. Over the course of 2.5 years, I had 5 GI tests and none of the extremely expensive supplements he prescribed helped at all. What was even more bizarre, is I would go in for follow-ups and he'd pull up the wrong chart and GI tests and start recommending a treatment plan before I'd have to correct him and point him to the correct test. I spent well over $7K at his practice and left in worse condition than I arrived. Of course, not all his fault, but I'd stay away as his practice is disorganized and he's a bit of a shady character.

Dr Wardwell is brilliant! His treatments are very specific and his investment in state of art equipment for diagnosis and treatment show his commitment to treating and healing his patients and improving their lives with the best possible outcome.

Dr. Wardwell helped me recover from a wrist injury that kept me from being able to work as a bodyworker. He was able to diagnose injured wrist ligaments using Musculoskeletal ultrasound. Ligaments don't heal well due to poor blood supply. He does a treatment called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) under ultrasound guidance in order to treat each of the sprains and microtears that were causing my wrist pain. He then taped it up to brace it and within a week, I was back to performing muscle work and have been good ever since. At some point I mentioned that I wanted to prevent my hair from thinning and he put me on a regimen of topical and oral supplements and my hair is thicker than ever and I'm even starting develop curls! Recently, I mentioned that I had some scars on my back from Chickenpox as a child. He uses a type of laser that can remove pigment from scarred areas and regenerate normal collagen, called Halo. He blocked me from ChiroMedical group. The office lady tried to be nice and squeeze me in when Jake was busy. And Jake talked about another procedure he was in during my visit. But he wanted to treat all of my many injuries. Later, I complained to the office that it was rushed and we did not do enough diagnostics. I asked for a refund. They talked to Dr. Wardwell. Jake Wardwell is an excellent doctor. He's very attentive and hugely knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone.

His office visits cost double what anyone else charges, and he encourages you to keep on coming back - gouging insurance. The place is also set up more like a business vs a medical office. I know they need to turn profits to stay in business, but this is going too far. I'd find a good ethical Dr., not one who wants to maximize his profits and has the office set up more like a for profit business center.
