You had a wonderful staff. You did a good job. I was there 15 minutes early. The doctor first came an hour and 15 minutes to the room where I was. So I was on the way to the next appointment in another place. So I don't understand how you can have only the fellow in for nearly an hour and show up after an hour and 15 minutes. It's not good PR and that's why I wrote that I am not going to recommend it to other people, but I'm very interested to see how the future will be for your institute. That's all for now.

The staff was very nice and also very concerned about your health and explained everything to you and to make sure that you understand everything before you walk out the door. And I think that's a good thing. And the doctor is on the top. Give her a 10++, an A+++. Thank you very much.

For the past several visits to UCI Medical Center at Orange we have struggled to find a transport chair for my mom. I am not able to bring our own wheelchair because it is too heavy for me to lift in and out of the car. She is very weak and unable to walk on her own. I parked at the valet area. For the past few months' visit, there are no transport chairs available at the valet, whether we are there in the morning or late afternoon. My sister and I would go to all the clinics close to the valet station (Cancer Center, Orthopedic, Geriatrics, Cardiology, etc) asking if they have a transport chair we can use. Orthopedic staff are the most understanding of our plight and have given us a wheelchair twice. The rest of the departments simply tells us go back to valet: It's valet staff's responsibility to have a transport chair available. One time my sister found a transport chair at the ER. For every appointment now we are told to arrive 20 minutes before appointment time. We do try to arrive at least 30 minutes before because it takes us that long to find a transport chair. On this visit I went to Cardiology receptionist and tried to check my mom in at her appointment time so they don't cancel her appointment while we look for a transport chair. The receptionist told me "I need to see her here to check her in. If she can't get here in 20 minutes, we will cancel her appointment." I told her she is at valet parking and we are struggling to find a transport chair. She said that is the rule if you can't get here 20 minutes after appointment time, it's canceled. Although I understand her trying to stick to the rule, I found her attitude very indifferent and unsympathetic to our struggle. The valet staff is usually able to find us a transport chair but it takes awhile. Please have more transport chairs available at valet stations for non mobile patients. The valet service is reliable and extremely helpful for us. It removes the struggle of trying to find parking. All the handicap parking slots are usually taken so finding parking close by and with access to transport chair is a struggle. Valet takes this struggle away. So our car is taken care of but finding a transport chair to get my 92 year old mom to the clinics (ortho, ophthalmology, cardiology, etc.) takes a lot of time and is very stressful. It also takes time away from valet staff trying to find us one. Please help us and have more transport chairs available. Thank you

The experiences I have had with the cardiology department have all rated a 10 on a scale of 1-10. My previous cardiologist moved to a different location which was farther from my residence so I switched to Dr. Pizlo for my care. She is a great doctor..very knowledgeable but also easy to talk to and compassionate. She explains everything in detail and takes her time with each patient making them feel very comfortable. I am extremely happy with her care and have definitely recommended friends and family to UCI.

Caring
About 2 years ago, I chose Dr. Pizlo because she was highly rated on my Aetna PPO insurance at the time. When I used to visit Dr. Pizlo at UCI Orange, she would have another cardiologist with her in the office to explain the severity of my heart condition to me. She showed empathy towards me in conversation. On one appointment, I told her that I was financially strapped to do the procedure. lived alone, and I take public transportation. Her Cardiology staff tried to schedule me to see her again but at her Newport Beach office?!!!! I told them that I preferred this location since it was very near to my home and work. On my shoestring budget, it took me a long time to pay off the Stress and Echocardiogram tests! I highly esteem UCI Orange but they are expensive!!!! Her findings of my heart condition were correct because my new cardiology group found the same results with new tests. They are just as good as UCI and cheaper Procedure will be done very very soon.
