Dr. Heather Hoffmeyer, MD

My experience with Dr. Hoffmeyer was traumatizing and hurtful. She was recommended to me for a routine OBGYN procedure, and her offices / she never contacted me regarding pain management. I arrived, and she gaslighted me that it was my fault I didn't take Ibuprofen ahead of time. The procedure was excruciating and her bedside manner was horrific. She accidentally yanked out my birth control device, casually commenting as I was screaming in pain that I should quiet down and it wasn't a big deal. Her office then sent me a bill for 'voluntary removal' of the device and its disposal. I was eventually able to fight the bill. The next horrible piece of my interaction with her was similar to a previous reviewer: she waited an extra week before giving me my life-changing test results after they were available and delivered them in a hurtful and cruel manner that left me in tears. Her manner on the phone giving me my diagnosis was deeply traumatic and unkind.

While Dr. Hoffmeyer may be a great doctor for someone else (as apparent here), I had an awful experience. Personally: I have never waited less than 2hrs to see her, and when she arrives it's abrupt/dismissive. I had a procedure done and the whole time she repeated "yep this going to hurt, it'll hurt pretty bad". It did - I would have rather forgone the build up. She is not who you want around when you're feeling vulnerable or going through a difficult life event. Professionally: She waited days after they were available to follow up with my life changing lab results (the test took 3 days, I didn't find out until day 6). She then delivered the difficult news abruptly and without critical information. It was excruciating, and unkind. Medically: She recommended that I use the Nuvaring continuously in place of an IUD (why I was there). It lead to wild hormone fluctuations and a 1 month long period. She misdiagnosed another medical issue, leading to a 10K ER medical bill. -Not a fan

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Bright Hoffmeyer as a physician and surgeon! She removed a cyst size of large orange. I was apprehensive as I had the same surgery 30 years ago - back then it was 5 days in hospital w/ lots of pain, drugs, nausea plus a 4 week recovery & an awful scar. The surgery today was 1/2 day, very little pain & nausea, minimal scarring & a very quick recovery with very little down time! Dr. Bright Hoffmeyer was wonderful throughout the entire process!

She canceled my appointment because of having surgery. Understandable. I saw a different doctor in same hospital instead, but she doesn’t have enough experience to find my cancer. I wanted to see dr. Hoffmeyer again but she refused and no response. She is not nice at all.

Dr. Hoffmeyer did hysterectomy surgery for me, I'm fully recovered now, I'd like to give good credits to her. She answered my questions clearly before my surgery, checked me closely after my surgery, and followed up with me timely due my recovery. Her hugs showed her care to me. A great doctor to see!!

She is the absolute best! My wife and I are sad that we won't see her as frequently anymore since we just had our twin girls! She's the smartest, most calming & confident doctor I've been around. We felt well taken care of through the entire pregnancy & felt in safe hands @all times. Every time I would see her, especially surgery day i got this instant feeling of ease & voice in my head would always say something like "i have no worries now that she's her". My wife feels the same :)

She has been my OB/Gyn for about a year and delivered my second son. She's smart and well prepared, open to questions, and willing to follow patient's requests.

This lady here is amazing! I was with her through my first pregnancy and now with my second. She is smart, kind,funny and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a well educated, laid back when appropriate Doctor. She has always made me feel heard and walked me through all my concerns and silly questions.

I believe this doctor is fine if you don't have any complications and require routine care. However, if you become "needy", concerned, or require anything above and beyond you may be met with coldness and apathy. I often felt judged and sad about our interactions. If you feel this way in an appointment please get a second opinion before accepting your interactions as fact.

This doctor's bedside manner was lacking during delivering the terrible news of a miscarriage. It was also very difficult to get a follow up appointment when I had concerns about complications. Later, after developing a horrible case of a UTI over the weekend she didn't get around to reviewing my labs and issuing a prescription for antibiotics until another couple days had passed since I submitted a sample (results available same day) meaning I was in severe discomfort most of the week.
