A terrific family practice physician
I've been to many military and civilian doctors over the years. Dr Harsharon Brar is the best family doctor I’ve seen. She's professional, personable, caring, and consistently shows respect, listening and considering what I have to say. With other doctors, because I was typically taken late, I'd get maybe ten minutes with the doctor, and while I was explaining my problem, he or she was already writing an Rx. At my first appt with Dr Brar, however, she had already reviewed my record going back at least twenty years. Before I leave my appts, she makes sure all my questions are answered. I finally have healthcare continuity and am getting things taken care of that were long overdue or neglected. She is literally saving my life. She also has a nice smile.

I saw her after a trip to the ER for abdominal pain. My doctor had retired so I guess SMHC picks someone for you to see. Well the doctor reviewed my medical history and writeup from the ER visit and asked me if I still had abdominal pain. When I said no that was the end of the appointment. No physical exam never felt around my abdomen. A month later I went to a new family doctor part of York Hospital and told him about my ER visit. He gave my a physical exam very focused on my appendix. He was able to elicit pain and said he suspected my appendix was acting up based on my abnormal bloodwork. He recommended I be very mindful of any abdominal pain. A month later I found myself in the ER getting my appendix out. Would it have been to much trouble for Dr. Brar to have given me a physical exam and review my bloodwork? I guess so. Best of all her parting words were "Best of luck to you and your health" Stay away from this one.

I say this with genuine concern- I worry for this woman's mental health. And I'm qualified to say that and have no problem saying it. If I can spare anyone from putting their health in this woman's hands, I will. Especially if you have serious health concerns like I do, be careful. You won't be taken care of because she is just seriously not in a good space.

I see that my experience was not rare. This woman kept me waiting over an hour then seemed flustered, also forced me to do a pop urine drug test while dressed for a dinner party! While rudely quipping, “Abd your insurance won’t pay for it!” I was flabbergasted! Also forced to sign a crazy drug “agreement” —I have never seen anything like it - been going to Primecare since 1993. Btw no one called after the boring non-addict results. She also failed to wash her hands. Pls fire her

Originally I liked Dr Brar. She seemed friendly and thorough. I'm realizing now, that's because I was perfectly healthy. After experiencing my first ever health crisis, I was treated so poorly I left the office in tears. When she walked into the room, she was agitated and told me the medication I might need, could kill me. When she left, my husband asked "is she always like that?" Her cruelty set my recovery back months and was a shameful way to treat someone in crisis. Seek help elsewhere.

This doctor lacks experience and confidence. She didn't answer many of my questions and seemed irritated that I was asking questions. There was no dialogue but rather her making fumbling, unclear statements. To say she lacks bedside manner is an understatement. I won't be returning and do not recommend her.

I recently moved here and saw Dr. Brar. I am thankful my care was placed with her. My last physician was good, but Dr. Brar did a complete exam and work up for me. She found a few things that were not addressed by my last physician. She was quite pleasant to speak with and I felt comfortable. I feel she genuinely cared about my well being. I would definitely recommend her to family and friends.

Potentially the worst PCP I've ever encountered. After waiting more than 30 minutes for her to even come into the room, she barely did a physical or anything else before leaving. Tried prescribing me a medication that a specialist later said would have caused more issues. Just because someone has an MD after their name doesn't mean they are good at their job.

She is by far the best doctor that I have ever had. She is thorough, confident and very patient and understanding. I have experienced a host of physical problems in my 43 years, and she has helped me feel better immediately, and discovered underlying solutions to many perplexing problems. I am extremely grateful to her because I thought that I would never feel better, and that I was just getting older, but she is extremely effective at making her patients well. Highly recommended!!

I was very upset after being seen by Dr. Brar. She was 30 minutes late for the appointment and did not listen to me. I also feel that she made assumptions about me based on my prescriptions. She threatened to suspend my driver's license, told me that I had to do a sleep study, and see 4 specialists. Summary judgment in 20 minutes of asking about meds only! I am a very responsible adult and have never felt so disrespected. I am now FIGHTING to keep my driver's licence; increased anxiety!
