My grand daughter was diagnosed with a diffuse midline glioma, a very aggressive tumor in the brain stem. I was present when she and her team met with my daughter and her husband to talk about stopping treatment and hospice care. Not only do I believe she is one of the most skilled neurosurgeons as she performed emergency surgery on my grand daughter, her compassion for my daughter and my grand daughter's condition was clearly evident. She spent the time with us to go through all of our options and described what was happening with my grand daughters brain tumor. In this incredibly difficult time, she answered all of our questions very thoughtfully, and again, her compassion for my grand daughter and for what our family was going through was evident. Our family was lucky to have her as part of our grand daughter's treatment team.
