Hip Replacement
I just had my one year follow up with Dr. Gitlin for my hip replacement. I have only positive things to say about the experience. I was referred to Dr. Gitlin by a friend of mine because she was very pleased with her experience with him. At my first consultation meeting he thoroughly explained the issue I had with my hip, the suggested procedure, pros and cons of other methods of treatment, any potential issues that my occur and the expected outcome of the surgery. He has what seems to be a rare gift these days, the gift of listening to any questions or concerns that one may have. Since the surgery all my follow-up meetings with Dr. Gitlin have been positive ones. In each he was still willing to address any questions or concerns that I had, and the responses were all clear and concise. The recovery progressed as he described, and I now have a fully functional hip with no issues at all. I would strongly recommend seeing him for any Orthopedic Surgeries.

I recently saw Dr. Gitlin for bursitis in my elbow, and years ago for shoulder surgery. Both times, the experience was excellent. Dr. Gitlin seems very thorough in determining the nature of the injury/issue, explaining the findings, and in detailing the course of action for treatment. My shoulder has been perfect since surgery 8 years ago, and he remedied my bursitis very quickly (out of his office in 30 minutes). I highly recommend this experienced physician. Excellent job. PS-Blanche in his office is also very good with scheduling and follow up.

I continue to appreciate Dr. Gitlin's availability, demeanor and the efficiency of his office with regard to my FAA related medical examinations. As an AME, Dr. Gitlin is both a professional and a fellow pilot. He also has considerable experience in Orthopedics of course! I also want to thank him for being available and certified in his many professional examination areas, not just pilot related. There are fewer and fewer professionals close by who are willing to jump through the hoops and familiarize themselves with the governmental requirements and as such, anyone who is willing to keep up this part of his/her practice is an asset to our community. Thank you again.

Active pilots need to get medical certificates renewed every year or so (depending on the type), which requires seeing an FAA-certified Air Medical Examiner (AME). during the 40+ years that I have had my private pilot's license, I have used a number of AMEs. Dr. Gitlin was recently recommended to me by an instructor, and I have been very pleased with him and his office. I was able to get an exam appointment on very short notice, and Dr. Gitlin was personable, professional, and helpful with the process of applying for renewal of my medical. He spent an unusual amount of time with me and appeared very cognizant of the FAA's requirements and procedures. Based on both his personal and professional behavior, I would highly recommend him to other pilots as an AME, as wll as (by inference) an excellent doctor in general.

We live in depersonalized times, so I really place stock in people who treat each other with respect and courtesy. I injured my elbow and did the horrible thing of checking on the Web a couple months into it and self-diagnosed as Tennis Elbow. To my credit, though, I know that when I'm on the internet researching symptoms, the most important thing is to call a doctor. I called a doctor, I won't name, but the office said unless there was a break or fracture, they couldn't see me for 6-8 weeks. Lovely: if there's good money coming in, they're in, otherwise, suffer. I called another doctor who didn't call back. I called Dr. Gitlin's office and his trusty Assistant Blanche, answered the phone, asked for my insurance info and scheduled me for the same week. She sent the preliminary paperwork and I showed up early and...they SAW ME EARLY. The doctor was great. Yes, it turned out, it is most likely tennis elbow, but he explained it to me thoroughly, sent me down for xrays to rule out

I had such an amazing experience with Dr. Gitlin. Without my visit to Dr. Gitlin i would have went on with a misdiagnosis. Dr. Gitlin was the one that realized that the radiologist had read my x-rays incorrectly. He's a great doctor and is very informative and patient.

This was my first visit with Dr. Gitman to determine the problem with my knee. He gave a thorough examination, spent a considerable amount of time with me and sent me off for x-rays. Less than 30 minutes later, we were discussing my issue and possible resolutions. I like that he gave ME options to choose from and didn't try to force anything on me. Was very honest about not needing surgery at this time, but definitely in the future. I was very comfortable asking questions.

Dr. Gitlin knows the right questions to ask but more importantly he knows how to listen. I have learned a lot from him over the past years and I am pleased that he is my doctor. He won't rush you into surgery unless you really need it. I speak from experience and know that he obtained a great result on my wife's hip and my housekeeper's knee. As for me, he has guided me along the road to recovery without surgical intervention but I know that if the time came then I definitely would use him.

This was my first meeting with Dr. Graham Gitlin. What a nice fella! Engaging , spent adequate amount of time with me.. Explained what the issue with hand was, even printed out some information so I could read about it. I felt this is a doctor who actually enjoys his patients :) I also have to give kudos to his wonderful receptionist Blanche. Both super nice and really helpful and informed. Look forward to going back.
