Dr. Maughan is a skilled, compassionate physician who is directly engaged with his patient's healing process. His checkups are careful and methodical, his advice sage. He directed me to necessary hip surgery, then coached the recovery. On top of everything, he promotes diversity in medicine.

He scrolled on his phone during every visit I had with him. At times he did not seem to listen to what I said. Did not explain things well

It was my 4 month checkup that was good. I also have joint pain in my knees and sometimes I need to have a quarterzone shot in my knee. If I ask for one he will give me a shot. Most Dr's would send you back to your knee Dr. But he is always willing to make you feel better under any circumstances. I love that about him. Dr Maughan and Jackie his nurse is very easy to talk to. That makes my appointments great and I feel like I'm getting honest results and I trust that from both of them.

Dr. Maughan has been my PCP for the past (3) years. He has a excellent bedside manner and always makes me feel comfortable and at ease. His Nurse, Jackie is the best, so kind and easy to talk to and very helpful. I have never had to wait more than 5mins before being called back for my appointment.

Every visit feels like the movie "50 First Dates" because he walks in and acts like he has never met me and has no idea why I'm there (for a follow-up he specifically requested). He then spends the whole appointment typing and staring at his laptop even though he has a scribe that comes with him in the room with her own laptop typing away. Refills are never sent to the pharmacy and have to be requested by the pharmacy. Dr. Maughan is a nice guy but I unfortunately cannot recommend him.

This office deteriorated significantly when they lost their front desk Administrator, Ayala approximately two years ago. The staff is curt, ill trained, non responsive, dismissive and often just rude. They do Not do what they say they will do. In fact, this office does not even have the courtesy to furnish patients with medical records when written requests are repeatedly submitted IN PERSON. Additionally, it is sorely apparent that this office is more interested in billing insurance as frequently as possible than they are in quality health care. Dr. Maughan is more interested in his popularity and his liability than adherence to the Hippocratic oath. Do no harm is the first rule of thumb not CYOA. It’s a shame that the struggles of remaining in private practice in the 21st century have so warped this doctor’s perspective. Over the years I have recommended Dr Maughan to friends and within the past two years they have all seen him once and promptly left his “care”.

I have been going to Dr. Maughn for many years. Not only have I appreciated his professional skills, but have benefited from the helpfulness and engagement of the office staff. As seems to be the case everywhere, Dr. Maughn sometimes seems over committed and this detracts. But it is not his problem; it is endemic to the profession and needs to be addressed by the society as a whole.

Dr Maughan is terrific! I love that he listens and isn’t out the door in 2 minutes. He’s great at “connecting the dots” and asking the right questions leading to a better understanding of my own medical situation. He has a wide breadth of knowledge and really keeps up to date on the newest medical advances. His nurse Jackie, is also fabulous and so very responsive if issues arise and I reach out. Dr Maughan is, unfortunately, a dying breed of doctor - he cares and isn’t just about a 7 minute office visit.
