Lack of Care
Extremely disappointed in the lack of care I received in Dr. Canner‘s office. I was sent there from the ER for some fractured bones. Unable to walk, his office kept sending me to other places for Care, without getting the proper referrals from his office in a timely manner. Wasted three weeks, not getting the correct care. No sense of urgency for several broken bones. I will never go back there again. Not sure what happened, as in the past Dr. Canner took very good care of me. Don’t go.

Didn't like him at all
I was referred to Dr. Canner by my primary care physician for a cortisone shot for tendonitis/bursitis of my knee. Dr. Canner refused the shot, took an x-ray, said my tendons were fine, but cartilage deteriorated. Sent me to PT again. Went back with more pain around knee, he wanted to send me for a bone scan for a fracture (I had no injury, did not fall, etc) that my insurance wouldn't cover. At this point, I had 8 weeks of pain impacting my functioning. He also mocked a birth defect I had in my foot. Maybe he is a good surgeon, but he really isn't good with soft tissue injuries. I went to a sports medicine doc, who agreed with my primary care doc about the tendonitis/bursitis and gave me a shot. Pain relief and no recurring pain more than 3 months later. Dr. Canner was totally off base about my condition. Don't recommend.

I am so happy I chose Dr. Canner as my surgeon.I work in the medical field so I have access to many different resources (so I trust their opinions) and he was highly recommended. My dad was also a patient of his and he really liked him. He has a great personality, is down to earth, and is a great surgeon. He took time to explain things. I never felt rushed. His staff is very friendly and helpful. Honestly I can't think of a bad thing to say. I would recommend him to all my friends and family!
