Very disappointing
My husband, who has a history of prostate cancer, saw Dr. Hammond to evaluate a CT scan of his abdomen and pelvis which showed a lesion on his kidney. Dr. Hammond would not explain anything, could not read the imaging at the first appointment and had us come back a second time and still could not tell us anything. He advised my husband to wait 3- 6 months and then do another CT scan to see if the lesion got any bigger. He said he wouldn't operate on him anyway because he has COPD. On 3-12-25, we went for a second opinion visit with a doctor at MUSC who went over the imaging and ordered a biopsy and stated that he would remove the kidney if it turns out to be a malignant tumor. He is also doing further urinalysis for cancer markers. It was a 4 hour round trip to MUSC but well worth it. Why couldn't Dr. Hammond have ordered these tests?
