Dr. Gabrielle Carlson, MD

As a mom of a child with special needs I am warning parents seeking a psychological examination to steer clear of this Dr., she is very accusatory and sarcastic. She was of no help whatsoever and only served as a delay in getting the services my son so desperately needed. Even three years later, when I reread the report I am flabbergasted. If Dr Carlson is reading this please note that you severely misdiagnosed my son. Instead of making provisions for him in my will. he will be graduating High School this year and with the amazing support of the BOCES team he has thrived. He couldn’t read and answer your questions not because he had oppositional defiance disorder, but because he had undiagnosed dyslexia and is now reading beautifully. I could go on but I won’t.

Stay away!!! How does one deny educational services for a child on high functioning autism spectrum? It's a crime.

Went to her because school district sent me for a psych eval, ( child has ASD, OCD, Odd, Anxiety disorder and depression). She claimed not to see any signs and literally said my child's Autism was in" Partial Remission"! Basically in my opinion, skued the report to benefit the district. When speaking to another ASD mom in a neighboring district, her report was almost identical and she used remission again. My Developmental Pediatricians office has also seen her write reports to benefit district.
