My daughter sees him and has not done well at all. Feel she is extremely over medicated. He recently decided he would remove her from all medications, 1 medication per week! My daughter is extremely sensitive to any changes in medications, any dosage changes or switching of medications must be done very gradually. He had her cutting dosage daily off first medication to take her off it with in a week. This sent her spiraling out of control, extreme mood changes, caused the break of year long relationship and she ended up back in hospital twice within a week and also caused a bout of extreme gastritis and dehydration landing her in the Er twice as well. My daughter is very small at only 4 ft 11 in and lost 10 lbs in a week. We will be finding a new Psychiatrist. When it was originally decided to withdrawal her from all medications within a months time he told her 'you are brave, you can do this', then apologized when she ended up in er!

I have been seeing Dr Shao for bipolar disorder for about 3 years. He has helped to fine-tune my medications and I feel the best I have in years. He listens well, responds well and discusses treatment options.

Dr. Shao is very good with my sons for ADHD. He speaks to them instead of just me and takes their thoughts into account. He explains things well to them.
