Dr. Evan Lagouros, MD

From my perspective, he did not follow the typical doctor mantra - first do no harm. He prescribed medications that interacted poorly with my current medications. Added to this were the errors of his staff, I had to return 3 times to finally get an eye glass prescription correct. However, his disregard for a second opinion on file from another ophthalmologist who also evaluated my case, I found unprofessional. And then not until after OMNI surgery, did he state that he has had one case a year that this surgery does not end well like mine. This minimal invasive surgery he promoted was a disaster which resulted in emergency eye surgery a few days later. Then he said he would drop me as a patient later because I questioned the accuracy of his documentation and further stated I would be banned from any care from any other doctor at the center. I am working with another doctor on staff but this time starting with poorer vision after the 2 surgeries.

I have a number of eye conditions and Dr. Lagouros is extremely vigilant about my care. I never feel rushed, he explains everything well, and he treats me as a whole person rather than a collection of eye problems. Once after diagnosing and explaining a new condition, he put his hand on my shoulder before he left and said, 'I just threw a lot at you. Are you okay?' He makes me an active participant in my care, which is essential for me in dealing with serious conditions. I choose to handle them with laughter and Dr. Lagouros has a great sense of humor, so we're serious when necessary and laugh when we can. I feel that I couldn't be in better hands!

Dr. Lagouros is very knowledgeable and professional in his assessment of problems he finds in a patient. He is friendly, courteous, and explains to you in easy-to-understand language your problems. He offers you your options to the problem he finds and explains how each option would affect you. I trust this Doctor with my precious eyesight and would highly recommend him to anyone with eye problems.

Dr Lagorous is wonderful. He is very caring and explains things well. Always asks if I have any questions.

Great bed side manner. Very attentive and took as much time as I needed. Explained in detail all my concerns. He said if I ever had an issue to call his office immediately and they would get me right in. I feel totally confident in his abilities.

I was born 2 months premature when incubators were not very good. So nearsighted vision has always been a problem. It was like two years before I had eye check up because economy and prices so terrible. When diagnosed with glaucoma my feelings were sorrow for my grandma. But today there is hope. Medical eye drops can slow glaucoma. Evan has surgically corrected my glaucoma. Feels so great to not go blind. God bless the Lagouros family. My addiction to eye drops ended a month after my glaucoma-cataract surgery. Surgery only takes about fifteen actual minutes and recovery goes fast the next day and mostly healed by one week. Very grateful. That’s all I need to say. No questions, no regrets.

Dr. Lagouros saved me!! Bard Optical had diagnosed me with Macular Degeneration. I went to him the very next day and he told me I do NOT have Macular Degeneration!!! However I do have cataracts in both eyes. I scheduled surgery with him. I did not ever think I would be excited to be told I have cataracts. Sure beats Maculsr Degeneration!!
