Dr. Erwin Thomas, DO

Horrible experience. Was just seen at City MD and had the most uncomfortable interaction ever with this provider. He dismissed my concerns and made me feel unsafe. I left in tears.

I saw Dr. Thomas at the UES city md urgent care. I thought I had strep throat because it felt like I was swallowing knives and I had white spots in the back of my throat. He didn’t ask me any questions and was incredibly rude and condescending the entire visit. He lacked any empathy or care for the pain I was in. He said it’s probably a virus and I left without any medicine or advice.

Saw this doctor at a CityMD visit because I had the flu and it was the weirdest doctor experience I’ve ever had. He walked in, stood by the door and said so yeah you’ve got the flu. And I really think he might have walked back out immediately if I hadn’t asked more questions. I had to ask him to listen to my lungs since I have a history of asthma and he never even looked at my throat or did anything else. He also didn’t ask me what Rx I take and prescribed me something I can’t take with my other meds. Just do not go to this doctor, so incompetent.

At CityMD today and this was the second time I've had him as attending physician. Aside from him doing the minimal that was required, and having a dissociated manner, I got a strong sense that he was judging me (I was there for an STI checkup).

I just had a flu shot, but I felt uncomfortable around him.

Absolutely horrible. I have never met a more miserable and ruder doctor in my life.

Dr. Thomas was very rude and condescending. My purpose for visit was for a potential throat infection that I had previously been diagnosed with before. He Immediately came in without introducing himself and said “what’s the problem?”. He proceeded to question my reasoning for the visit and said “are you here for my knowledge or to just get a prescription for something?” There was no compassion for his patient and was negligent of the information I provided to him. This doctor should at least be investigated for his professionalism and proper knowledge. No bed side manners what’s so ever. After telling him I don’t appreciate the way he was talking to me, he got up and left saying “I’m done”

Went in for a swollen ankle, numbness, throbbing and severe pain from mid foot to my shin —all for this doc to look and tell me he don’t know what it could be. You had to be there to see how he just look (baffled) and said I don’t know, as he squeezed and poked the painful area. Now I couldn't get an X-ray cause it’s only if something is broken. He 1st refers me to Ortho and I said I have one but then put that he directed me to go to ER immediately. How do you not know what’s going on but want to send me to ER (but really referred me to Ortho).

Dr. Thomas was very thorough and patient. Asked questions avout my symptoms, discussed lab results and even called me back in the exam room to talk to me when I was at the front desk ready to check out! I find Dr. Thomas to be a caring and kind doctor.

I’ve never seen a doctor who is more out of touch with reality and negligent toward the patient. The hand sanitizer dispenser in the room received more attention than I, the patient did. No questions were asked, only assumptions made. Then proceeded to prescribe me $42 worth of medication that I did not need.
