She provided a great patient experience
I came to the Hospital For Special Surgery from Illinois narcotic dependent after a very long surgical history of complications that included severe nerve damage. When it came time to do a T 10 through S1 fusion, I saw Dr. Rim. Their main concern was to make sure that they could manage my pain effectively after my surgery. I’m happy to say that we were successful as a team. They kept me safe. They kept me as comfortable as possible at a very acceptable level for me. They kept me safe in anesthesia and made it so I could wake up quickly. And now that I’m having to return for another surgery, once again, my confidence is in Dr. Rim and her staff. Pain management when a person is already narcotic dependent is a very difficult process. You really need someone who knows what they’re doing. Dr. Rim and her team really know what they’re doing. Blessings to all who read this. I’m sure your journey is not an easy one. Hang in there!

I have to say, I was a bit nervous going into this appt with Dr. Rim after having had bad experiences with other pain management doctors. She was OUTSTANDING. Knew her stuff, helped me come up with a great post operative pain management plan and is readily available. Highly recommended!

Complete disaster. My appointment with her was suppose to be about chronic pain. Instead I was shown the highest level of disrespect I have ever experienced. It was assumed that my having chronic pain and having had taken low dose opioid medication in the past classified me as a felon with a substance abuse problem. She seemed overwhelmed and unsuited to interview patients about sensitive matters. I was shocked to later learn she is formally trained in pain management. Poor HSS patients!
