This review follows two extremely concerning incidents involving “Dr.” Erik Richardson, which reflect a pattern of hesitancy in diagnosis and treatment that has jeopardized patient safety and contributed to a loss of confidence Dr. Richardson and his Ridgeview Family Health practice. The two incidents outlined below highlight significant concerns about the doctor’s ability to make timely and accurate diagnoses, as well as the impact of these failures on patient outcomes. Mismanagement of Acute Bacterial Rhinosinusitis (ABRS) In the first instance, I presented with symptoms consistent with Acute Bacterial Rhinosinusitis (ABRS), a condition that often requires antibiotic treatment. Despite clear indications for the use of antibiotics, Dr. Richardson refused to prescribe them to me, opting instead to have a “conversation about gut biome health.” It should be noted that Dr. Richardson did not even examine me. Feeling dissatisfied and uncertain about the “care” I received (which was none), I quickly sought a second opinion at another medical facility. There, the correct diagnosis was made, and I was promptly prescribed antibiotics, leading to my recovery. This failure to administer appropriate treatment for ABRS demonstrates a lack of urgency in managing known, treatable conditions, as well as a concerning lack of responsiveness to patient needs. The decision to withhold antibiotics was not supported by my clinical presentation and deviated from accepted medical guidelines for this condition. Delayed Diagnosis Leading to Potential Kidney Failure In the second instance, Dr. Richardson encountered my husband who was presenting symptoms consistent with a serious kidney issue. However, despite my husband’s critical condition, the doctor hesitated to make a definitive diagnosis and chose to delay the necessary intervention. Recognizing the severity of the situation, I advocated for immediate care at an alternative medical facility—where my husband was promptly diagnosed with a life-threatening condition requiring a catheter, which ultimately prevented kidney failure. Medical reports from the second facility confirmed that had Dr. Richardson’s hesitancy prevailed, my husband could have gone into kidney failure, resulting in a significantly worsened prognosis, potential long-term damage, and perhaps even death. The delay in diagnosis not only caused a substantial risk to my husband’s health but also raised concerns about the doctor’s clinical judgment under pressure. Both cases illustrate a pattern of hesitation and misjudgment that not only jeopardized our health but also undermined our trust in Dr. Richardson and Ridgeview Family Health. The refusal to make timely diagnoses or provide appropriate treatment has caused us to seek care elsewhere. In my opinion, the long-term consequences of Dr. Richardson’s behavior may lead to further patient attrition, as well as potential legal liabilities. Steer Clear of this incompetent “Doctor.”

Dr. Richardson was pleasant, but his care was inadequate, and he did not follow up with test results nor with promised referrals. Through investigation of other sources I was able to obtain my results, and schedule appropriate appointments for MRI, Physical Therapy, and followup with other practitioners on my own. I was very disappointed with the level of care that I received. I did receive phone call from a staff person a month after my visit to report results. I am thankful that I had insight to seek other options and the care that I needed.

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 two boys ages 15 and 9. Dr. Richardson has been wonderful! everybody in the family loves him, He is very helpful and his ability to listen to our issues and explain things to us makes such a difference and he is always able to diagnose the problem and have the right remedy for the issue at hand, And we never feel rushed. We are in our mid 50s and Dr. Richardson hands-down has been the finest Doctor we've ever had.
