The doctor cancelled my appointment last minute when I was in severe back pain. This shows how unprofessional he is. And they scheduled me for 2 days later. Why book an appointment when you can't keep it? and if you need to cancel is atleast have the courtesy of rescheduling correctly with another doctor. Extremely disappointed.

Dr. Messner is the most compassionate, thoughtful, patient-focused doctor that I have ever had. He is been my primary care doctor for around 20 years, and his care has always been exceptional. He will spend as much time as needed with each patient, so he is probably late getting home every day. - He explains everything thoroughly and clearly. - When you are sick, he will check in with you by the Kaiser email. - He is up-to-date on advances in treatment and will select those most suited to getting you well as soon as possible. - He is also knowledgeable about the research-validated viability of a variety of alternative medical strategies. - He is emotionally supported as when my wife was extremely sick and passed on. - He listens. Very important. When I found some research (I am a librarian) that indicated another calcium product was better for a condition I had, he immediately made the change in prescription. -All-in-all, I recommend Dr. Messner without reservation.

Absolutely Excellent doctor trained on the latest technology. I've been a patient with Dr. Messner MD since 2002 and found his decision making absolutely perfect. He's fast - I came in one time with a suspected broken wrist, he sent me to X-ray, came back to the exam room where he showed me my broken wrist on the monitor and told me what recovery would be like, then sent me to the "cast" department and had me out and driving home much more comfortable in under 2 hours including all wait times at all departments, because Dr. Messner electronically sends notices that the patient is on their way, and tells the pharmacy patient is waiting, so I can get everything done quickly at the Kaiser campus. That's very much appreciated, as is his knowledge and willingness to explain complex problems.
