Great psychiatrist
Telehealth
I have been seeing Dr. Valkov for about a year and a half now. I absolutely love him. I have expected my psychiatrists to just focus on meds, but Dr. Valkov is affirming and supportive and has said things to me that really helped, in a way that my therapist does. I look forward to our appointments because I always leave feeling good.I read a few of the negative reviews and I wonder if people are misreading Dr. Valkov's affect due to his accent and the virtual aspect of the visits. I can't imagine him being anything other than what I experience - kind, compassionate, non-judgmental, supportive, as well as knowledgable, creative in problem solving, and a great listener.

He is very helpful and human
Telehealth
He has an edgy, fascinating side to him so I think some people don’t get his wonderful humor. I have found him to be very interested, sensitive, discerning and compassionate. He gets me.

Very judgemental, acks compassion
Telehealth
I was unbelievable shocked by Dr. Valkov's rude and extremely judgemental behavior. He directly insulted me and failed to provide any treatment options beyond medication. He has a strong base of knowledge, but he fails to apply it without letting his biases interfere. This man really doesn't belong in healthcare, and I say that as a healthcare provider. I don't think I've ever had a more unprofessional experience in any context.

strange seeing these bad ratings…
I have been lost for a while now. I contacted a psychiatrist in my network, had a rushed appt with a man that looked like he just rolled out of bed. i knew something was very wrong with me and he did not take me seriously. I never went back, it took some courage to reach out again to find help and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this man has been! I’ve accidentally missed appts without repercussion, I can call anytime if I feel elevated, he is compassionate with a great bedside manner. I could and have recommended him several times to many. Thank you. you have no idea how much you’ve helped me!

Total lack of compassion.
Dr. Valkov was rude, condescending, obviously annoyed, judgemental, quick with questions, short on answers, and not understanding or compassionate at all. I could not believe I was talking to a mental health professional. Will not ever see him again.

I have no idea what this other reviewer is talking about. Dr. Valkov is an excellent psychiatrist. He takes the time to really get to know patients, is personable, motivating, and is very effective at prescribing medicine, which is his main job.

Dr. Edward Valkov MD is the worst Dr. I have ever had an experience with. He is not looking to help patients, he is looking to get you out of the door as soon as possible. He does not see patients as human beings, nor does he share human empathy. He will not explain anything in a respectful and kind manner. DO NOT trust this man. There are wonderful mental health resources out there, but unfortunately, this man will back talk you, disregard your concerns and overdiagnose within 5 minutes of talking to you. You are nothing but a paycheck to him.
