The doctor was not welcoming. I felt he was ewcist
The doctor was not welcoming at all, he was extremely condescending and passive aggressive. Worst of all, he was irritated. I came in to ask about a specific surgery and he brushed me off, I felt that he did not like my kind.

He and everyone that works with him are wonderful
I can’t speak highly enough to the level of care and skill with which I was treated by Dr. Chueng and everyone at UCLA. The most important thing was fixing my shoulder and he did that beautifully. and everything surrounding that experience was outstanding. i’d recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Cheung checked on my shoulder after he repaired my rotator cuff. I’m just past the halfway point of my recovery and all is well. Today, Dr. Cheung tested my range of movement and strength. I feel like I am in very capable hands with him.

Dismissive , bad attitude towards family
I appreciated the care I received from Dr. Cheung's, but he was rude to my family member. For my post op appointment, Dr. Cheung interrupted my family a few times and wasn't listening their concerns at all. Dr. Cheung's residents were awful, poor bedside manner, dismissive and disrespectful. The residents ignored our concerns for blood clots and infections. They hang up the call while the patient was still talking. They delayed patient's care and cause damages to patient's health.

Excellent!
Dr Cheung was excellent. He was able to schedule me for an urgent surgery and work with my schedule to do so. It was a difficult and unique injury that he skillfully repaired. He did phenomenal setting expectations and using shared decision making to help me decide what would best for me both in the short term and the long term

The best care I could have hoped for
Dr. Cheung has been terrific! I tore my ACL and from my first visit Dr. Cheung has been very attentive, informative, and quick to respond to all communications. He and his team has handled my course of surgery prep (PT), surgery, and all follow ups with efficiency and care. My surgery went well and leading up to it I felt assured and in good hands.

Dr. Cheung and his entire staff are the most professional, friendly, informative medical group I’ve had the pleasure working with for the last couple of months. I had fractured my arm where I have a replacement shoulder. At my pre-op appointment with Dr. Cheung he thoroughly explained the surgery he would perform and was able to fit me in his surgery schedule the following week. My surgery went well and luckily the replacement piece wasn’t loose. When I was in recovery Dr. Cheung showed me an x-ray of my arm and thoroughly explained what he did to repair it. I am very impressed with the care I have received from Dr. Cheung and his staff.

Great Bedside Manners
I had a great experience with Dr. Cheung. I went to him for a second opinion and I really liked how he went over all options of treatment for me. The physician I had seen before was always very dismissive of my pain and made feel as if I would just have to live with it. Dr. Cheung was personable and made me feel as if he really wanted to help me.

Great experience with Dr. Cheung
Dr. Cheung recently repaired my torn biceps tendon and all has gone extremely smoothly. He has a great bedside manner that makes you feel instantly at ease and he's known for his work as a top surgeon, as many of the patients at my physical therapist's office were operated on by him. I would highly recommend Dr. Cheung if you're in the unfortunate position of requiring surgery on an arm or leg. I'm very happy to have had him as my surgeon.

Fantastic surgeon with helpful explanations
Dr Cheung made time to see me within a week of injury in case my situation needed it and provided one of the best surgical experiences I’ve experienced to date when it comes to pain management, surgical plan, and rehabilitation. He is also accessible via UCLA medical portal messaging system which makes basic questions easy and simple. Thanks very much!
