Dropped the ball and blamed staff
Had a lump removed for cancer. Went back two weeks later to have the stitches removed and a full body skin check. No mention of any issues with the biopsy so I figured just fine. Site was also infected so a culture was done and antibiotics were prescribed. Another 2 weeks goes by and I get several phone calls (no msg left) from the dr office. When I finally answer the nurse was anxious to tell me I had to immediately make an appointment with a surgeon because the lump was cancerous! Wait..WHAT??? Why is the nurse, not the doctor calling me. Oh and the doctor would not be in for two more days so I can't talk to her. Come to find out she sat on the results for a month before informing me I had Merkel Cell Carcinoma. Tried to blame it on new staff. I'm sorry, I was in your office for you to remove stitches and you didn't look at the biopsy results??? Never again.

We were referred to Dr. Shabazz by our trusted family physician, Dr. Jay Tyroler. Dr. Dwana Shabazz is an excellent dermatologist who cares for her patients with skill and sympathy. Consulting with her and her staff is fun and very helpful.

I followed Dr. Shabazz from one practice to another. My whole family uses her as our dermatologist. She is knowledgable, friendly, and caring.
