Miss my GYN
My GYN of many years retired so they scheduled me with Dr Shine when I was having some issues/concerns. She didn't even know about the issues I made the appointment for, nor did she bring in a chaperone during the vaginal exam, and did the breast exam under the gown (skipping out on the visual portion). Being in advanced healthcare practice myself, I was not impressed with my visit at all. I have used this group for many years but will not be going returning.

Dr. Shine delivered both my children and I have been seeing her annually for the last 25 years. Dr. Shine has ALWAYS been professional, caring, and spends time listening to concerns and answering questions. With both my pregnancies, Dr. Shine took the time to explain things and alleviate stress when I had concerns or questions. During one of my last visits I told Dr. Shine my PCP wanted to put me on high blood pressure medications. My blood pressure was high during this visit. Dr. Shine took the time to look at my medical record and decided I was on the wrong birth control which was making my blood pressure high. Sure enough, I switched and my blood pressure has been good since. Dr. Shine saved me from having to start blood pressure medication. My daughter now sees Dr. Shine as an adult. I have always felt welcomed and "in good hands" under Dr. Shine's care.

I saw Dr. Shine for a routine pregnancy check up. Her bedside manners were horrible and I explained to her my areas of concern one of which how sore and swollen I was (34) weeks. I was having a lot of pressure and thought maybe baby was low and getting ready. She suggested a pelvic exam which I wasn’t due to have until the next week. I agreed just to see if I was dialed. She was SO rough and didn’t seem to care that she was hurting me. I about came off the table. Even after I warned her. When she left I broke out into tears. I have never had an exam like that. I told the receptionist I don’t ever want to see her again. It was awful. Now I’m trying to avoid delivering when she’s on call.

She did not have a very good bedside manner and lacked compassion, especially for someone who works with the public. She was rough in her examination and did not seem to care that she was causing me pain. That is the first time I have ever had pain while getting an annual gynecology exam

Dr. Shine delivered both my babies who are now adults. However, when I went for annual visit after my daughter was born, she didn't seem interested in me - since I wasn't pregnant. She was OK in the OB phase, but not the GYN phase. I found another doctor.

After kicking my husband out of the room, against my wishes mind you, she then proceeded to try and convince me that I needed to stop my labor with medication. After asking her why I needed to, worried about the possible implications and what might be wrong, she got incredibly rude and hostile towards me. After having steady contractions for four hours straight she finally moved us to a room. I haven't seen her more than twice in the entire time I've been here, and there's absolutely no "hustle and bustle" in the hallways. I do not recommend seeing her, if i do have her again, I'll just save myself the trouble and leave. After all, it only seems to me like she's been trying to get rid of me since we got here.

Dr. Shine appears to have a professional bedside manner. That is what influenced my daughter to choose Dr. Shine as her obstetric physician in 2004. What a life changing error. Due to lack of professional knowledge or just plain neglect my daughter had to experience an undue series of traumatic events. We reported this only to her colleague that made rounds for Dr. Shine. So sorry we did not formally report Dr.Shine in 2004. Please get other patient references beforehand.

I see Dr. Shine every year, and if you are having a problem, they will work you in. I love her! She is a great doctor. She listens. She cares. I started seeing her due to mom and my Nana also went there for MANY years. My first appointment was when I was fifteen. I am now 42. we have been seeing her regularly. My mother is now 67, still sees her. Nana passed in 2009, but she went for years!Three generations going to her! I have recommended her to several people, and they were happy!

I have seen Dr. Shine for over 5 years now. She has helped me emotionally through 2 miscarriages & helped me find out why I had them. She has ALWAYS been caring and very helpful & answered all my concerns. I have moved to Texas & still go back every year to see her. She is an awesome doctor! I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone! Her nurse, Nikki is also a wonderful, caring nurse!

Screwed up labs and lied about it for a week, didn't do exam after miscarriage, didn't attempt to help me after my miscarriage, refused to do any bloodwork after miscarriage to help get answers (kept telling me it happens I want answers and tests ran just in case something is wrong and I can never have kids again!), gave me a birth control sample that has made me bleed 3-4 days every 5-6 days for 3 months now!
