uncomfortable
firstly, we had to pay 250 to even get the appointment scheduled despite us having a referal. the issue started when he breached a line that shouldnt have been crossed in the medical field and told my fiance he recommended an exorcism because of suspicion of demonic possesion?? which is just symptoms of his mental health condition and recommended him going to mass even though he's catholic already and would not hear it any otherway. he was convinced and kept claiming wrong information about an illness he seems to know little about (that schizophrenics don't have visual hallucinations). he made the whole appointment feel rushed. he wouldn't let my fiance talk and was constantly interrupting him and second guessing his answers (specifically the fact that his mental illness is medically diagnosed), and its just so upsetting because he really needs the help. it seems like he only cares about money, and preaching to people who need medical help. truly dont waste your money and time.

The confidence this Dr had in such severe diagnosis that he could perform a successful surgery. He did. My father is recovered and well today.

His faith has taught him poorly. Has no respect for his elders much less a veteran. Too stupid to learn how to use an SD card. Most definitely, too stupid to touch me with a knife. Likes the sound of his own voice and the arrogance was over the top. Seemed he was offended that the VA wouldn't pay him what he thought he deserved.

Notice that any less than positive patient review is countered by Mckalip stating that the comments are inaccurate, falsehoods or just plain wrong. Strange that so many people can all be wrong. And of course, he is always right. As the famous expression goes, "My son Johnny isn't 0ut of step, it's the Army that's out of step".

Dr. McKalip did surgery on my back, a lumbar lamonectomy. Before surgery, I could not walk without a walker and only about 50 to 70 yards without stoping to sit down. After surgery I have a brand new pair of legs, within three weeks time Im walking a mile three times a day. In my opinion he performed a myrical. He is an AMAZING surgeon, he has a slight sense of humor also. I realy like Dr. McKalip. If you need a neurosurgeon go see this guy, He is a wonderful Doctor.

My wife had to have emergency back surgery. The ambulance took her to St. Anthony's. Dr. Mckalip was assigned as her surgeon and she had surgery the next day. He wanted 1/2 payment up front. After the surgery, he did a 5 min post op follow up 4 weeks later and that has been it. Anytime we have a question or need something else they aren't interested in helping. They are rude and make it clear they don't care what happens once they get paid. Obv only cares about money and his huge ego.

I scheduled an appt 2 weeks out, and then the day of the appt the office calls to say they won't take us as a patient because I was a car accident where it was the other drivers fault and they don't rely on pip or car isnurance to get paid. So now I have to wait another 2 weeks to get in somewhere else while in the worst back pain of my life. Save your time and money and go see someone else.
