Wrong diagnosis of fracture & recommended surgery when no need for. Took two additional opinions & both contradicted the X-ray & surgery advice.

Dr. Groen is a wonderful podiatrist who is not only extremely knowledgable, but has a very kind and caring bedside manner as well. He takes the time to listen and answer all of your questions. I highly recommend him!

Very kind, even when injecting a thick painful liquid into my foot : ) I was treated for Plantar Fasciitis 10 years ago, which after his care and following instructions has never returned. I am now looking for a recommendation for my son who has a bony premise

Dr. Groen gave my 89 year old mother excellent care. He showed her respect and compassion. He took time with her and explained things so she could understand. We were both extremely pleased with the care she received.

about 9 years ago Dr grown did bunion operation on me I have been in pain ever since he put screws in the foot and i asked him to remove them and he would not do it! I still have pain and it goes up my leg throbs most of the time it is getting worse I have been to three other doctors 2 in des moines and one where i live only one said he would take the screws out but he said I needed to find out what size or kind of screw driver to use!! I would never recommend Dr Groen

My daughter was referred to Dr. Groen by Iowa Clinic Urgent care for a volleyball ankle injury. Dr. Groen told us she had fractured her ankle and needed surgery within two weeks. A second opinion Orthopedic Dr. looked at the same x-ray and told us that he didn't think she had a new fracture. An MRI revealed, in fact, that she had sprained her ankle. The line on the x-ray that Dr. Groen thought was a new fracture was not! He still claims that she needs surgery and refuses to reduce his bill.
