Great Podiatrist
I have seen Dr. Roussel twice. I went to him after another practice didn't meet my needs. I like this practice. I like this doctor. He's extremely smart and couldn't believe if been in pain so long under the care of someone else. He immediately ordered tests so he could figure out what was wrong rather than doing anything before knowing. I appreciate that. Now we know what's wrong and he explained the options, recommending the conservative action that could provide what I need. He can do more as well if the first solution doesn't get me where I want to be. I really appreciate his honesty and how thoughtful his solutions were. I am stunned by some of the other reviews, but if you're looking for a best friend and not an actual diagnosis and solution then this might not be your doctor. I appreciate that he is very knowledgeable, professional and thorough. He will remain my doctor for sure. Everyone at this practice is really nice btw. The prices are very reasonable as well.

Terrible Bedside Manner
While he is great at what he does, I had a broken ankle that needed surgery to repair he is very blunt and borderline rude. His nurse is horribly rude and got upset that I hadn’t begun PT when every place has at least a 2 week wait with MMI’s in house PT being close to 4 weeks out to begin therapy. She also said I was limping really bad but had cut me off in the hallway so I had to adjust my gait to match that and did probably limp for a few steps. I cannot wait to be cleared from this service and no longer have to interact with him or his nurse.

Appallingly rude
Dr. Roussel was curt, condescending and brusque, making it clear that I wasn't worth his time or attention--which I likely was not, seeing I am a woman of a certain age and not a candidate for surgery. He needs to be reminded of his oath: "... warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug."

Very satisfied
Dr. Roussel diagnosed my ankle injury and explained to me the treatment plan which included PT. He also answered all my questions. He was brief with his explanations, but overall I am very satisfied with this visit.

Find another podiatrist
Dr. Roussel has the personality of a dead fish. Doesn't instill any confidence in a patient. Look elsewhere for another podiatrist.

Terrible doctor and person.
Do not go to Dr. Roussell. He was rude and dismissive. Very arrogant and refused to listen to patient complaints. I begged for an MRI and after months of inaction he finally ordered one but said it was probably a waist of time. At one point he said it was probably my back anyway since the pain had gotten so bad it had began to radiate up my leg and that he doesn’t treat the back. Turns out I had several torn ligaments and bone fractures in my foot. He confirmed I needed surgery after 9 months of doing nothing. I took the MRI results and went to another doctor in a completely different practice. They told me that I was the 5th recent patient that had left Dr. Roussell to come to them. So glad I didn’t let that man operate on me.

The worst bedside manner I have ever encountered! Was very dismissive about my multiple torn ligaments injury. Acted as though I was bothering him just to be there. I would strongly not recommend

Receptionist was lovely, but my visit with Dr. Roussel was a complete waste of time. Super dismissive. Acted like he just could not be bothered. Did not leave me confident at all that my bone would heal properly left as is and when I asked for a second opinion within the practice, I was greeted with attitude and offense. Doctors work for us, it’s not the other way around.

My visit was excellent. I checked in prior to my arrival. Once I arrived I had a quick consult, X-rays and then met with Dr. Roussel. He examined my foot and explained my injury. He presented me with two options for treatment. I am happy with my treatment plan.

Dr. Roussel did not introduce himself when he came into the room. He was arrogant and condescending in our consultation. After agreeing to a course of treatment, 3D Lapiplasty on both feet, the Drs scheduler called to set my surgery date. When I returned her call I was advised the Dr was out INDEFINITELY and too bad there is no-one else in the area who performs this same procedure to refer me to so good luck. Now I see the Dr is back in the office and I have not received a follow up call which I find totally unprofessional. Thankfully, I found another Dr to perform my double surgery and am grateful for his professionalism and care.

I've had only one encounter with Dr, Roussel and he was nice enough. He explained my issue to me clearly and laid out several options. Didn't really steer me one way or the other though so I wasn't sure what decision to make. He didn't seem invested in one treatment or another. He also did not share my xrays images with me (I wish he had so I had a visual). But he explained his findings. He is not much for chit chat, he is very dry, to the point and matter of fact. But I left knowing more than I did when I arrived and that's why I went. On another note, the supporting staff is full of personality and very welcoming.

I've seen Dr. Roussel multiple times and have had a great experience each time. He is prompt, knowledgeable, and direct. Several reviews mention his bedside manner - I have found it to be excellent. He isn't much for conversation, but that isn't why I see him! He has answered all of my questions, and has been very helpful.

Would not recommend. His bed aide manner is lacking. He has little patience for discussion. His surgery on me was a failure. After multiple return visits and a year of PT, I went to a different, nationally ranked surgeon in Baltimore. He agreed the surgery by Dr. Roussel was a failure and corrected it. My experience with MMI and CAO was bad, including their physical therapy.

I found this "person" to be a self centered, egotistical self serving buffon. He has no interest at all in what the patient has to say, since what I said did not fit his preconceived opinion, he just called me a lawyer and it was in no way possible to keep weight off my broken ankle in the manner I described. If you are referred to this specimen, run away as fast as you can and find someone who actually cares about treating a patient and not feeding his over inflated ego.

Dr. Roussel did not listen to me at all. I told him where I was hurting and he completely disregarded me. My feet have never been straight because my knees go out and he started focusing on that instead of my pain. All he told me was to get new shoes and they didn't help me at all. Terrible bedside manner and doesn't listen.
