Detached and indifferent
Moody. More focused on the computer and numbers results than myself as a patient. Prefers Telehealth to in person appts. I worked 100 hour weeks during COVID lockdowns from 1/2020 through 2/2022. Nearly died of exhaustion. I refused Telehealth appt during COVID, preferring to meet in person. This obviously was not acceptable. I followed up to reschedule, Olivia’s demeanor was abrasive. She required a referral as I would be a new patient. Referral provided and Olivia again deferred as appts were months out and not scheduling anything new. I asked to be on wait list for cancellation. No call. Called after the date that they would be scheduling. Again, more abusive condescension from Olivia. I don’t know if Olivia’s actions were at her discretion, the office manager’s, or Smiley. If I heard my staff talk to a client like that, the employee would be released immediately. Obviously, Olivia’s demeanor is an acceptable trait for a staff member at Northwest Renal.

He's a very good doctor, he's very friendly and cares about his patients. Takes time to talk to you about your health and listen to his patients concerns. He honest and sincere about your health just as much as himself. I would certainly recommend him for a kidney doctor.

I really appreciate the fact that Dr Smiley has always been very prompt with our scheduled time. Many doctors make you wait and wait. In addition to his timeliness, he has a very pleasant demeanor and as far a can tell so far is very thorough. I drive from Aloha to Tualatin to see him as I really feel he is one of the good one's. Sincerely, C. Cannon - patient since 11/2017

I highly recommend Dr. Smiley. He listens to my concerns. I feel his responses to questions are direct. He is approachable and very professional. His staff is friendly and helpful. He takes time to review lab reports and makes recommendations. On several occasions, Dr. Smiley has personally called to give the results of lab work, even when all tests are normal.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Smiley?
Dr. Smiley is a keeper...he is personal, professional and interested in my health...One growing edge would be if he could help me understand how my kidneys effect other major organs in m y body. Does good kidney function equal good liver, pancreas ,bladder, and gut regulation? I did not ask him this....maybe just a minute of proactive teaching would be helpful.? I guess that is an individual case basis...?
