Drove from Tampa to see this endocrinologist and was very pleased to learn from him better understand my condition. He helped me reduce my long list of medications and was easy to communicate with and very friendly and competent.

Callous and rude. Barely spoke to me but accused me of seeking drugs when I spoke of my trouble losing weight and having hot flashes. Went off on a diatribe about writing prescriptions for drugs that I don’t even ask for or have ever taken. Didn’t address a single medical issue I made the appointment for. Looking at how many states he has held a medical license in, maybe he’ll leave FL soon.

Presumptive and arrogant
Did not greet patient upon entering room, but started conversation with visiting physician who had already begun the questions for the follow-up. Koch came in ready with an agenda that did not include patient care, listening, or empathy. He proceeded to state that the majority of females 'my age' are overweight, as are most Americans. He did not review my chart, did not ask questions, did not do any type of exam. He assumed my age and was wrong. He did not ask how I was feeling. Only went off on how Americans are overweight, drink sugar free sodas, eat processed food, and feeling bad is just how it is when you 'get old.' This was the most demoralizing, hurtful, and wasteful medical appointment I have ever experienced. Avoid this person at all costs. He needs to be removed from his position and certainly does not need to teach future physicians.

Gaslighting and Rude
Not only was I his first patient of the day but his staff openly admitted he shows up when he wants to and didn’t come into the room for 45 minutes after I was called into the back. He looked at some but not all of my bloodwork, said my PCOS diagnosis was incorrect (without having ALL of my bloodwork) and that my weight gain is because I work from home and need a nutritionist not because I have PCOS and insulin resistance. Also “women just get cysts on their ovaries” I left feeling defeated and gas lit after having a PCOS diagnosis for over three years. I cried in my car in the parking lot. I just received more bloodwork that CONFIRMED my diagnosis and am seeing a new endo that specializes in PCOS and endocrinology. Patient beware if you have PCOS and are looking for help.

Not prepared, poor bedside manner
I waited for over an hour in the exam room before our visit started. He didn't apologize or introduce himself. He interrupted me and asked irrelevant questions. He googled my medication in front of me and then proceeded to explain it to me when I've already been well informed by my primary. He made me very uncomfortable and was not comforting in anyway. He made me feel like my other doctors provided me with the wrong diagnosis. I will never go back.

Aragant and Rude
Dr. Koch was ill prepared for our visit. He never interacted with the referring physician. He never reviewed the records, and his mannerisms were far from professional. We immediately changed doctor upon leaving the office. He was demeaning and condescending. He may have a knowledge base, however he is best suited to clinical work not involving contact with people needing compassion or personal care.
