Exceptionally knowledgeable
Dr. Chris Sambaziolis is exceptionally knowledgeable and thorough. He always takes the time to explain everything during our appointments. His patience has been invaluable, especially since English is my second language. Nurse Domingas is equally excellent—she is consistently friendly, helpful, and efficient. Together, they create an environment where you feel welcomed and valued. After years of enduring pain and going back and forth between appointments at different offices, I met Dr. Sambaziolis. He quickly identified the best course of action for me: a hip replacement. Choosing to undergo hip surgery was the best decision I've ever made. He truly gave me my life back, freeing me from relentless suffering. After the surgery, I felt like a new person. Dr. Sambaziolis is the best orthopedic surgeon in New England; he is knowledgeable and professional.

I have had two total knee replacement surgeries performed by Dr Sam both were successful and have given me back pain free mobility. I am extremely happy with the results and grateful that they were performed by Dr Sambaziotis. My only regret is that I didn’t have the surgeries done earlier which would have resulted in a better quality of daily life sooner

Remarkable results with personal effort
Dr. Sambaziotis performed a right hip replacement in the fall of 2021 and a right knee replacement in April, 2024. I can only offer my whole hearted endorsement of him and the New England Baptist Hospital. Dr. Sam uses technology and surgical techniques that contributed to a successful outcome; NEBH's care was exemplary.Since 2012 Dr. Sam has done my R knee replacements and R hip replacement. Now, my wife and do the things we enjoy: skiing, golfing and traveling to National Parks. We are active. These positive outcomes in 2021 and 2024 are due, I believe, in some part to the 'prehabilitation' I did before surgery. These are strength, aerobics and stretching. To the extent discomfort and pain allowed, I used Nautilus for strength and stationary bicycles and ellipticals for aerobic. Gentle stretching contributed to good recovery. I recommend highly these exercises First, check with your doc and then fitness staff at the gym for a program. Enjoy your replacement. Best of luck!

Dr. Sambaziotis
The staff at New England Baptist Hospital, as well as all of their medical faculties, are top-notch, the best, and compassionate. Words cannot express my thanks for every... Dr. Chris Sambaziotis performed an anterior hip replacement surgery on my left hip on February 27, 2014. I was up and walking the same evening, and my pre- and post-operative experiences with Dr. Sambaziotis and his team have been excellent. Since the successful surgery, I have been walking without a cane and have experienced almost no pain during the healing process. Dr. Sambaziotis is an amazing surgeon who has always been responsive to my needs and questions. I highly recommend him to anyone considering hip surgery. He is a wonderful doctor and surgeon, and I couldn't be more pleased with my results. Having a hip replacement was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life, as it has completely changed my ability to live a normal life again. Thank you, Dr. Sambaziotis, for changing my life. ~ Solomon

This is the only doctor's office that can get you in and out so quickly, no problem with parking in the garage ether. I've been at offices for HOURS. Never here. Dr. Sambaziotis and staff are so friendly, professional and efficient always and they go out of their way to make things work in your schedule like if you have to change your appointment. . I'm confident I made the right decision to have my knee replacement by Dr. Sambaziotis.

Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Sambaziotis performed a robotic knee replacement surgery for me one year ago at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. I highly recommend having the surgery. I highly recommend "Dr. Sam". I am an active 75 year old woman. The pain in my knee (and up and down my leg) kept worsening. Cortisone shots no longer helped. Pain woke me throughout the night. I am now pain free and able to remain active. The surgery went very well. I did PT every single day either with the PT specialist or on my own. I believe it is very important to continue doing the PT exercises daily after the surgery. Vigilant icing helped to keep the swelling down right after the surgery. I encourage you to get the surgery.

Dr. Sambaziotis was direct, informative and dead on with his analysis of my hip, what would happen in pre and post operative surgery, and the difference between my first hip replacement and the anterior approach he used. Now that I have had both hips replaced, the anterior approach used by Dr. Sambaziotis was far superior. The time to full use of the hip was shortened by at least 60%. The pain level was significantly less. Can not say enough good things about Dr. Sambziotis. Absolutely wonderful.

I needed a knee replacement four years ago... l didn't spend time researching out the highest rated orthopedic surgeons. I selected this orthopedic surgeon because he worked at the same medical center as my PC. The intial visit went well. He listened to my concerns. However my knee surgery was a disaster. He performed my knee replacement and everything changed for me. My right knee is still swollen, stiff and hurts when walking. My right foot is numb. I now have neuropathy symptoms. I visited him numerous times. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with my knee. Nice personality but I wouldn't recommend him for knee surgery. I need a knee replacement on my other knee. I will look for an orthopedic surgeon with higher ratings and more experience. Do your research before deciding on an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Sam performed a TKR on me last March (Friday the 13th) 2020 The surgery went well, the recovery and rehab is a lot of work, more than the hip I had replaced on the same side. (they say don't do the surgery if you are not going to do the rehab) I was very diligent in my daily rehab and worked to maximize my extension and flexion. I am excited to report that I returned to downhill skiing January 22, 2021 - I was a bit cautious on the first few runs, but after that I stepped it up and enjoyed the sport I love again - Pain free, even the next day. :-)

6 months ago, I had an Anterior Left Hip Replacement at the NE Baptist Hospital . I am a mature, very experienced RN. In 2009, I had a Right Posterior Hip Replacement. Although the 1st surgery went well, the positive outcomes of the Anterior approach were far more significant. I was walking and doing stairs the day of surgery, and discharged early the following day- with minimal pain, and a 1 1/2- 2 inch incision. Home Care with VNA and PT, followed by onsite PT. Driving 1 week Post Op Dr. Sambaziotis, is just the best! Technically superior, caring, informative, kind, responsive--- I would highly recommend him without hesitation

Dr, Zabaziotis looked at the xrays I had done at Lahey Clinic in Burlington after several months of worsening hip pain. He asked me about my pain and had me walk and move my leg around to see the extent of it's motion. He agreed I was a candidate for a hip replacement. He expained the surgery to me and explained the time frame of recovery and getting back to normal. He answered all my questions and concerns. Surgery was just returning to operation after the lockdown due to the Covid 19 so a month later (due to backlog of cases) he performed an anterior hip replacement on my right hip at New England Baptist Hospital in early July 2020. I was amazed at the final results. The scar was small, the pain diminished over several days. I was extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend Dr. Chris Sambaziotis.

It is about the anniversary of my second failed hip replacement with this surgeon. My hip was severely damaged. Perhaps no one could fix it. (I give him the benefit of the doubt) There are, however, other issues of concern: 1) After the 1st surgery the surgeon was clueless. He left a message that the surgery was a success, until a check up shortly after revealed the extent of the failure. I had to return to NEBH on the same day for a clean-up surgery. 2) Collateral damage: After the 1st failed surgery my leg from the foot up was completely paralyzed. I could not raise it even 1 inch. The situation has much improved, but not around the knee. in the course of the 2nd failed surgery. I lost so much blood that I ended up in the ICU for three and and a half days. 3) His attitude: He was trying to ignore me. In any case, he did not acknowledge his responsibility. Bottom line: if your case is simple you will do well with this surgeon. If it is complicated Beware!

He replaced my knee in late 2016. I faithfully did ALL my PT afterwards and my results were excellent! However now I’m looking into custom knees, the ones that are measured beforehand for a custom fit. I have a friend who just got one of those (the type he got was “Conformis”) and his recovery was MUCH swifter than what I experienced with an off the shelf knee. My friend only spent ONE night at the Brigham, rather than my THREE at the Baptist, which was standard, and is walking without a cane after only five days and off narcotics. It’s a pretty shocking difference from my recovery (I needed narcotics @ 3 weeks) and he’s heavier +older than I was. So I’m looking into a custom fit knee the next time, (they were FDA approved in 2011, not sure why I wasn’t told about this choice) but would use Dr Sam if he does the custom fit “pre-measured” type in addition to the “regular” type which is what I had. They cut less so you recover faster w few drugs i was told. I’m looking into it.
