Dr. Cheryl Horton, MD

Dr. Horton is very kind, knowledgeable, thorough. She takes her time with you and answers questions. I always know I've been thoroughly examined and cared for. You do have to pay up front, and file your own insurance. While her practice may be a bit different and not quite 'up to date', she is not nor is her care for your eyes.

We have been using Dr Horton for our families eye care over fifteen years. Routine cataract surgery for my husband she discovered a spot after surgery that turned out to be a cancer(squamous cell carcinoma in stitu). Sent us to Alkek Eye Center in Houston for consultation and chemotherapy. We are thankful for her quick action. She is the absolute best. I recommend her for all your eye care needs.

Asked the person that’s makes appointments if they could send a reminder as I have a large family including 2 disabled adults . The answer was we don’t have a computer . WoW would have liked at least a text reminder. Didn’t verify insurance info nothing not sure why so unwilling to get information before appointment needless to say looking for someone else.

She’s the most wonderful doctor and person. Highly recommend

Dr. Horton changed my life in less time than I was spending in the waiting room with my former opthamologist. She is kind, honest, expert, respectful, understanding and efficient. I walked in fearful that I was losing my vision and walked out in less than 2 hours able to see. For her, it was a "simple" process. For me, it was a miracle.

I have been using Dr. Horton for about 12 years now and she is the absolute best! I have never had opthamologist take the time that she takes with me. She does all of her testing. I have had slow-growing cataracts for about 4 years now. She has never talked about rushing me into surgery that I don't need yet. That means a lot to me and I know when I do have surgery that it will be successful with Dr Horton. She is the greatest.

Dr. Horton is the absolute BEST. Not only does she know her craft and continue to improve it regularly, but she is kind and compassionate and truly cares about her patients and their health and well being. The world needs more Dr. Hortons! If I'm having a problem, she always takes time to make sure she understands what is happening and does her best to find a solution. I had major issues due to previous RK surgery that my Austin doctors never recognized. She diagnosed the problem immediately.

Always professional, accomodating and considerate. I have been a patient for a number of years and trust her recomendations and have never had a problem with my prescriptions.

I have been seeing Dr. Horton for a number of yrs. I appreciate her professionalism and ability to explain my diagnosis and options for treatment in terms she knows I understand. As a retired RN I highly recommend her.

This was the first time seeing Dr. Horton, I have never had the Dr. actually do my exam it has always been a tech. then the Dr. comes in tells me the results and out I go. She actually did the entire exam, sat and explained the results, ( I have been a Insulin dependent Diabetic for many years and have had vision changes, she discovered a cataract that I have apparently had for several years and this was the first I had ever heard of it. She sat and spoke to me, explained things, didn't rush!

Wonderful and committed doctor to her patients. She spends as much time as necessary on each patient, so don't be surprised if you're not seen at your appointment time.
