Dr. Charles Odonkor, MD

Dr. Odonkor is truly the best doctor! He has been providing care for our mother who after years of chemotherapy developed severe nerve damage. Numerous doctors from various disciplines said nothing could be done- except for Dr. Odonkor. He not only gave us hope but he achieved what he said! He completed a spine stimulator this past fall and it has given her such an improved quality of life! Not only is he an exemplary surgeon, he is the kindest and most compassionate person! Without any reservations- go see Dr. Odonkor! If only more doctors were like him what a difference our medical treatment would be!

I waited several months to see this Dr THE day of.my appointment I had xrays and then was left in a small uncomfortable room for 3 and a half hours. This Dr never even showed his face. I was never even offerred a sip of water a pillow or an explanation. The most unprofessional Dr and office I have ever been to. Very disappointed Yale would treat a patient with so little regard. Icing on the cake they billed me. Complete opposite of professionalism on every level. Way to many great Dr.s to bother with this aweful treatment. The entire experience was a complete disgrace.

Dr. Odonkor quickly understood, after asking questions and examining the sore areas, where the pain was coming from and why. He has multiple great, minimally invasive ways to get “get pain gone” as fast as possible. He also has a stellar staff working with him. Christina, with whom I have mostly dealt with, reacted immediately to any questions, comments or worries I had. I am sure the rest of the team is equally caring and responsive.

The procedure went very well! I had no more pain or problems after the procedure. The staff were great! Thank you Dr. Odonkor and Team!!

First Dr. that had read my chart, the entire medical history prior to 1st visit. Explains everything in both medical and layman. Personable and knows his stuff. Efficient. Staff is very good too.

After years of trying to figure out what was causing me so much pain with patience and guidance Dr.Odonkor has helped find out the causes and also with patience is working with me to find what works to help relieve my pain that is in different parts of my body, it gets very complex figuring that out. My quality of life is starting to get better as we figure out what works. I would definitely recommend Dr. Odonkor who shows compassion, patience, understanding, guidance. He takes the time to listen and understand your personal issues and helps you find what works for you . He’s also one of the friendliest Doctor's I’ve had the pleasure working with and will continue my journey with him to improve my living.

As long that I can remember, my back has always been bothering with stiff and pain in my lower back. After seeing Doctor Odonkor, my back issues are no longer there. It feels great.

In 2006 my husband fractured several discs in his spine. Since then we have been to several pain management specialist. When we heard about Dr. Odonkor my husband was in extreme pain with limited mobility. Dr. Odonkor evaluated my husband and came up with a plan. Dr. Odonkor was easily to talk too and spent cosiderable time explaining various options. My husband made the decision to have an ablation since he was a candidate. This procedure was done in early spring 2023 and til today November 2023 he has been pain free and active physically. Dr. Odonkor also encouaged my husband to go to physical therapy to learn how to adjust differently to his body mechanics especially when playing golf. All said and done this encounter with Dr. Odonkor has been a positive experience. My husband encourages anyone who has exhibited constant chronic life debilitating pain to be proactive and schedule an appointment with Dr. Odonkor.

I have seen Pain Specialists from Los Angeles CA, to New York NY, to no avail. I visited Dr Odonkor and on my first visit he recommended a procedure that he personally performed a few days later under anesthesia in a surgery room. My inability to walk as well as the pain disappeared as soon as I came through the procedure. To me this was highly satisfying and I remain impressed by Dr. Odonkor’s skills.

Working with Dr. Odonkor to resolve my lower back and nerve pain has been a pleasure. He is compassionate, caring and effective. He developed a multifaceted approach that addressed a complicated spine problem. The goal that Dr. Odonkor wishes for his patients is that you are able to live your best life and he uses his exceptional knowledge and every tool accessible to him to achieve that goal.

Ever since first meeting Dr. Odonkor I have been very impressed with his understanding of the pain I was experiencing. He didn't dismiss any of the symptoms of the pain I have which has been catastrophic and life changing to me. He listened to me and demonstrated empathy and said' we will get to the bottom of this and find out what's going on'. He immediately told me of a multi-faceted plan to address the issue. I told him that as far as I was concerned I trust him implicitly with whatever he plans on doing. He has been honest, trustworthy and informative every step of the way. He talks with me not at me. He is never in a rush to listen to my input, answer my questions and explain the potential plan of care. He is an asset to the medical profession and Yale. I had 1 in person and 1 telehealth appointment. Both were very and helpful.

Dr. Odonkor is truly exceptional! He and his team of Christina, Joanne, Tara and Dee ( to name a few) go our of their way to be not only knowledgeable, patient, kind and efficient but also very in tune with the patient and family. They are very willing to answer questions and continue to work with the patient to find the source of their pain and offer treatments accordingly. I have had 1 in.person appointment, 1 telehealth appointment and 2 procedures. All were accomplished in a timely manner unlike many other specialties. We are very grateful for you all. I made an appointment with Dr. Odonkor at the recommendation of my PCP. On my initial visit Dr. Odonkor impressed me with his empathy and attention to my rather long and convoluted story concerning my back pain. He also took the time to show me, on my MRI, exactly what was causing the pain. And, best of all, the injections he subsequently gave me improved my condition enormously.

In my first visit to Dr Odonkor MD I told him 25 yrs with severe neck pain and many visits with other MDs your my last hope. After several steps of treatments and decreased pain, on a visit when Dr Odonkor MD walked in , I said to him I want to give you a hug, he said bring it on ! I have finished the RFA process. I currently have very little to no pain. I had this procedure at Shoreline Medical Surgical of Yale. Dr Odonkor MD has a great team working the OR and his Office. You will never find an MD with more compassion and skills than Dr Odonkor MD. My procedure was several months long. If I called the Office his nurse would get me help quickly. I’m thankful to all at Shoreline Clinic as well.
