Absolute BEST experience
After reading some of these reviews I was hesitant but I quickly realized that none of what was said prior was true for me. Dr. Yang really took her time to listen to my concerns and helped explain the reason for my hand pain. She was very patient while answering all my questions and made sure I left with a good understanding what our next steps would be. Her staff was extremely friendly and you can tell they all work so well together. The front desk ladies went above and beyond for me when it came to my billing issues and were able to set me up with a payment plan that worked with my financial circumstances. I could not recommend this docotor enough to anyone looking for a hand doctor! She is straight to the point and doesn't waste any of your time. I was in and out within 20 minutes!! I have never felt more comfortable at a doctors office. Don't listen to the negative reviews and see for yourself.

Reported for over billing
Seen for trigger thumb, already dx. Very impersonable never looked at me just sat down looked at thumb, injected and left. One month later minimal relief. I will be going to another hand specialist. I was way over billed for the visit. The biller said the visit was based on time and she always bills this code . Per AMA, 99204, Office visit for a new patient with a progressing illness or acute injury that requires medical management or potential surgical treatment. Billing time 45-59 min. When a provider bills based on time for an E and M service but the medical documentation does not support the level of service indicated by the time spent, the code should be reduced to a level CPT code that accurately reflect the documented services. The visit is based on the medical decision making and complexity present in the record; essentially, the documentation MUST justify the level of service being billed. This clearly should be billed as 99203 plus cortisone injection.

An outstanding surgeon
Dr. Yang's skill and expertise has restored a useless hand. From diagnosis through surgery it is evident that the initials following the 'MD' after her name are well earned.

Incompetence
1. Had Nerve Conduction Tests. 2. Dr Yang diagnosed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. 3. She performed surgery. 4. At post-op I was told to carry on doing everything I could do normally. 5. After three moths I was in pain. 6. Was told to do Occupational Therapy. 7. Still in pain. 8. I consulted with Dr. Yang and was told there was nothing wrong and that she could do nothing for me. 9. With a second opinion the new doctor actually read the notes from the lab work from a year prior and diagnosed that the problem was Cubital Tunnel and Pronator Teres problems and that the latter muscle was wasting away. Now I have to endure yet another surgery because Dr Yang had not read the results of the testing adequately. I spent more time with the latter doctor in one appointment than I did in all the office visits with Dr Yang combined.

Miracle injections!
Every couple of years, the pain and tenderness in my hands becomes a problem enough that I really cannot function. I know I have arthritis and tendonitis from a great deal of use in life and sporting activities. Dr Yang had helped with this several years ago when she had just taken over the practice of Dr Mark Buehler who was retiring. Well, things really became. intolerable to the point that I could not even sleep without waking up in pain. I had tried physical therapy with ice, heat, massage and even paraffin which may have helped but the condition was progressively worsening. So, totally out of sorts, I called and got in within just a few days which was a huge mental relief given how hard it is to get into doctors these days! Dr Yang was fabulous at my appointment. She remembered me from the prior time and efficiently examined me after hearing all my complaints. She ruled out a few things and said injection is what she recommended which went really well and now I am 98% improved!

Dr Yang's Receptionist-dark haired female
I was Dr Buhler's patient, and have not seen Dr Yang. This review is on her receptionist. Today I went in for my appt and was 1/2 hour early. I KNOW my appt was originally booked for my time as I don't do earlier appointments due to other health issues. Having made many appts in my life I ALWAYS repeat the date and time back to confirm it is accurate before I hang up. I told the receptionist that I was going to look at my info and if I had the correct time it wasn't acceptable not to be seen. She flatly told me that it didn't matter if it was their mistake or mine I wouldn't be seen. Regardless of whose mistake, had she been professional and apologized for any inconvenience this caused I would have been disappointed but rebooked. Maybe she had emergency surgery, things happen. That I could understand. Not indifference. Dr Yang....you'd be wise to do some training with your staff. As a business owner this young lady would be fired. First impression is everything.

She was great!
I have Dupuytren's Contracture, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and Arthritis in my hands and fingers. I've read up on these conditions and I know the treatments available. I need the use of my hands as I play the piano with my church's worship band and I practice every single day. Unfortunately, if the benign treatments don't help, surgery really isn't a viable option. Success is less than 50%. But those are not Dr. Yang's fault. I only have good things to say about her. She confirmed what I already knew and gave me suggestions on how to deal with the pain.

Excellent Doctor
Based on the Healthgrades score I almost didn't go to Dr. Yang. However, I also checked her reviews on Google and they were good. So I took a chance and went to see her. Dr. Yang and her staff are the model of efficiency. Dr. Yang is like a Kung Fu artist. She is direct, to the point, precise and all knowing and seeing... regarding matters of the hand. Some folks might find this off-putting but I found it reassuring. I had a severed tendon on my right hand's middle finger's knuckle. The surgery went great and the follow up PT with her in-house PT crew went great. I am writing this review 10 weeks after surgery and I couldn't be happier with the results.

These other reviews are very similar to what I experienced. She was rude, rushed and argued with me about a non-related medical issue in my chart and outside of her area of knowledge. Some doctors communicate about what they do when they're touching you - she does not. I did not feel safe in her hands. I'm seeking a second opinion. I went to her from a referral via Zoom Care for some hand pain related to a dog bite. @Dr. Yang - if you're reading this, I'd seek some CE courses on how to communicate and listen to patients - you're missing crucial details by ignoring and bullying the person in front of you.

I was scheduled with Dr Carolyn B Yang for an Second opinion from the department of labor, after I was injured at work, My back has not been the same since 11/15/2019 and I had been in treatment since the date of injury until my second opinion by Dr Carolyn Yang who is a hand surgeon decided on January 4, 2021 . My injury was not work related. Which on that date she sided with the department of labor, even though she is a Hand Surgeon and not a back specialist. It not fair to the patient, for her to team up with the department of labor. Knowing she is not a specialist and she never even viewed my MRI that was provided to her. She stated in her cover letter to the department of labor Thanks for the referral and can't wait to work with you again. Which tells me she has done this before. When patients are in real pain the doctor should be looking in the interest of the patient.

She walked in 30 min late, sat down in a rush, didn't even inspect the area of my injury, or asked about my symptoms. She quickly looked at my MRI, asked me to bend my wrist in a couple of ways, and then took out a syringe from a drawer and injected me with cortisone to address the symptoms, without even wondering about the root cause in what seemed like a routine for her. I felt no empathy or concern from her, and my questions were dismissed. My perception is that she solves patient's problems with cortisone injections and charges my insurance a whole lot of money. Since she didn't even ask about symptoms, she missed one of my injuries which I had to explicitly ask about, on which she gave a hasty, incorrect diagnosis that was later discarded by another doctor. I'm undergoing surgery in a month with another doctor.
