I had an abnormal ultrasound result that needed to be discussed with me by a physician to go over my next steps. Dr. Baxter called me and didn’t have any idea why I was scheduled with her. I advised her of why the appointment was made and to please take a few minutes to review my chart. She read the ultrasound results out loud to me and then offered to prescribe me antibiotics for a UTI which I had already been treated and my culture results clearly are in the chart as well as a recent antibiotic in my medication list. I advised her I have already been treated and need her to please advise me what is recommended as a next step based off my ultrasound results. She said she didn’t think the conversation was going well and I need to schedule with another doctor.

Lack of compassion
I emailed my original Dr. “Dr. Denny OBGYN” since I’m a FTM and have been experiencing complications that are making it near impossible for me to attend work. I’m in my 8th month of pregnancy. I asked to a reduced work schedule or early leave and was told by Carmen that she couldn’t grant me this. She also tried going against my accommodation letter that is already in place, stating that I shouldn’t have any lifting restrictions and that I might get fat if I go off work 3 weeks earlier than my normal scheduled leave date. There are laws in place to protect women during pregnancy and actual medical evidence of further complications if a woman strains herself while pregnant, especially in the last month of pregnancy. I was also made to monitor my blood sugars for GD and labeled as high risk. This dr should not be allowed to override or overstep in the medical field when she’s not even my dr. I’m pretty sure I know my body enough to know when I have had enough.

If you are looking for an OB at Vacaville Kaiser, I, unfortunately, have to say stay away from Dr. Baxter. Her lack of consideration for your unborn child is incredibly concerning. She will do anything to get out of office visits and is thriving under this Covid restricted circumstances. During the last trimester of my pregnancy, she has abandoned me and refused to follow Kaiser’s birth plan which I am assuming is put in place for my babies Safety. This however is not her concern. As previous reviews have said, she is polite and cordial in person but you will have to fight her tooth and nail for proper prenatal care. In truth, it wasn’t upset how she treated me but how I felt my baby was being treated and cared for. Pregnancy is such a special and scary time don’t make things harder by not being companionate to the patients you have chosen to taken on. Just such an upsetting experience. I hope she can regain her passion or at the least self reflect.

Dr. Baxter has not been a good Caretaker to me during my high risk pregnancy. She makes it a battle to get any prenatal care. She has only seen me twice and I am in my eight month of pregnancy she would rather give me phone appointments as often as she can and leaves it up to my Primary Care Physician to give me my prenatal care. She acts very nice to you during appointments but when you ask her for any help she down right refuses! She will not sign FMLA paperwork as well as refuses to give any Dr. notes for work modifications. At a time when the world has no consistency due to Covid-19 and when I need extra support and am trying to enjoy my short time being pregnant she has made my pregnancy unnecessarily stressful. I wish I never had her as an OBGYN during my pregnancy.

Dr. Baxter should not be called a "doctor." She lied to my wife about our prenatal care and lied to her supervisors about what she told us. Our encounter with her caused an unbelievable amount of stress and worry. Carmen Baxter is one of the truly evil, dishonest, and terrible people in the world. I regret ever meeting her.
