The corporation that is advance family is a joke. Since Dr Barnes became advance family medical care, the practice stopped caring. The front staff are the worst.

I have been going to Dr Barnes for more than 10 years. Recently, I had to have a test done in the office. I received a bill after insurance was process for $240. I contacted them to make payment arrangements because my husband has cancer and we have a lot of medical bills at this time. They told me that they would have to reschedule my upcoming appt until the balance was paid. I go every 6 months because I have prescriptions. They won't fill the prescription unless I see the dr.

I've never left a review for anything like this in my life. The way I was treated by them was totally unprofessional. I would not recommend ANYONE going to this place. The staff is absolutely horrid. I guess they think that sitting behind that glass window makes them someone special ?? I will GLADLY find a new doctor and take my money elsewhere.

There are some new faces at Dr. Barnes office, but I must say that his staff is amazing. The front desk staff are all so courteous and polite every time I go in! Dr. Barnes always takes the time to explain things to me in a way that I will understand and not just in medical terminology. I would highly recommend Dr. Barnes and his staff to anyone!

Dr and his staff are the BEST !!!! They even stay open at night M-F so you don't have to pay more to pay more at Urgent Care !!!!! If you notice the negative reviews are all people that just don't want to pay their bills!! If you got fired from any doctor you're either abusive to the staff or you just don't want to pay them!!!! Shame on you for spilling your negative victim BS out in an ANOMIMOUS post!!!

I was a patient of Dr. Barnes for several years and made an appointment due to high BP readings. I got to his office and was told the doctor made a policy that he wasn't taking our insurance for the rest of the year and I should just go to the ER if I was worried. I argued that my insurance would want me to see my doctor first. I even offered to pay cash for the visit. They did not care. I ended up battling a huge ER bill. What kind of doctor turns away a patient in need? Hippocratic Oath broken

Dr. Barnes is a decent doctor. Sadly, his office staff is horrible. They tried to force me to pay a copay that insurance covered 100% of. They had no understanding of my insurance & lied about contacting them on my behalf. I watched them allow a woman with a balance on her account the option of being seen. Insurance will cover 100% of my visit, yet I was refused care & the option of speaking with Barnes to explain why I will never return. After many issues with office staff, I will never return

Dr Barnes has been my doctor for many years and I have been satisfied with the care I have received. However, there has been an abrupt change in customer care recently. I am currently looking for a new doctor. I had an appointment a few days ago: the lab tech complained that I didn’t warn her that my veins rolled and When i forgot to ask dr Barnes to change the wording on my prescription I was informed that the dr had left the room and I would need to make another appointment.

I have been seeing Dr Barnes for many years. He always is looking at his computer and asking the same questions 2-3 times during the visit. I was called in by Dr Barnes to discuss things, which I was charged. Then he proceeded to gripe me out. So 2 weeks later I decided to get a different dr and I called the secretary to stop all upcoming dr visits. Then I get a registered letter saying he would not be my physician or anytime in the future. So if your thinking about getting a dr, don’t get him

Visited Dr. Barnes as new patient on 5-30-2017 for lesion removal. Removal did not work. Returned on 6-1 for second removal. Got bill for 2 visits and called to question error. Receptionist would not listen to anything just directed me to billing in an unfriendly manner. Lesion was still not gone. Called billing , said they would try and get something done. Got overdue bill statement, told amount owed was due. Received certified letter dropping me as patient. Patient BEWARE!

After seeing this doctor for years, I received a certified letter saying he would no longer see me over an alleged 60 dollar bill. I paid my co-pay every time I visited the office. The person I talked to refused to help me at all. Anyone that is worried about a few dollars, (Which I didn't owe) over their patients health, doesn't need to practice medicine.

The office staff was very unfriendly. I was 7 minutes late for appointment on a day when there were NO other patients in the office. They told me I had to re schedule my appointment because l was more than 5 minutes late! Mr. Barnes office could use a lesson on customer service. I walked out when they told me to reschedule. Also, Dr. Barnes could use a lesson in listening to patient. I question why he is in this profession if customer service is low on his priorities.

Dr, Barnes, although friendly , was impersonal and really did a poor job of "listening" to my concerns. He was more willing to write a prescription than actually try to help with the root cause. In my case, he never asked about diet or assistance for managing my diet, but instead willing to write a prescription to cover it up. I felt that he was using my condition to keep me coming back into the office on a regular basis for an office fee. I don't recommend his services.

I have been a patient of Dr. Barnes for at least 6 yrs. I really like him but his office staff is difficult, not thorough and their policy on payment(s) and the way they treat you is anything but compassionate. I was placed on a 30 day cardiac monitor in office which they never pre verified with my insurance and I received $3000 bill for. Then despite having full coverage, there was a discrepancy over $9.50 for which I received a certified letter saying he would no longer see me. Do no harm?

His office staff is horrid, their new account manager is worse than horrid. They want anything more than 30 days past due paid in full before you are seen. Even if you have not received a statement. I have been his patient since I relocated to Joplin in 2005. I can count on 1 hand how many times I have seen him. I have always seen the PA but my insurance always paid for a DR FEE. I THRU A FIT ABOUT IT. Paid it and waited. Then was asked to leave without being seen
