Rude Staff
Dr. Brian Carlson is very caring when consulting in a phone conference. I have not had the pleasure of seeing him in person as of yet. His staff however are less than considerate of patients, rude and very difficult to get straight answers from. Told they don't do telemed appointments

This doctor’s office is suitable if you are looking for a second-rate family doctor who can take care of general medical conditions such as coughs, colds, and high blood pressure while he awkwardly attempts to make small talk with you. However, I would never recommend this practice to people with complex medical conditions. My reason for not recommending this small family practice for people with chronic conditions is because these “DO”doctors have a very limited scope of practice. The doctors make decisions solely based on reducing their liability unlike doctors within a large medical group who can make treatment decisions based on what is best for the patients’ health. This practice demonstrates an unusual level of hyper-vigilance about protecting their individual liabilities that appears to be very extreme based on my personal viewpoint as a seasoned licensed healthcare worker. I would recommend that people with complex medical histories stick with Medical Doctors (MDs) within the larger medical groups in our area to seek the best medical care. Intercoastal Medical Group, Premier Medical Group, and Millennium Physician’s Group all have top notch doctors that are worth the wait! Unfortunately, it took two appointments (one with the PA and one with Brian Carlson, DO) for me to clearly understand that this office was not the right fit for me. After wasting my time going to two appointments I decided to continue going to my primary care doctor who specializes in Internal Medicine at Intercoastal Medical Group even though he is now out of network with my insurance plan. I would rather pay the out of network coinsurance for an excellent, experienced MD than save money with an in-network zero dollar copay for Dr Carlson who has limited experience, bias, and a narrow practice scope. Dr. Carlson would rather reduce his liability and refer me for more frequent (and expensive) appointments with my current specialists than treat me for the exact same chronic medical conditions that my MD at Intercoastal Medical Group treats me for on a regular basis as my primary care doctor. Doctors are not the only people whose time is valuable. My time is just as valuable as a doctor’s and I regret wasting my time going to this office just so I could save money. The old saying is right-“You get what you pay for!”

Office manager is very disrespectful and rude
Telehealth
We had a phone appointment and never received a call. When I called 30 minutes later, was told they tried to call twice. My phone log shows no calls from this office. When asked to speak to someone, was told we would have to reschedule to tomorrow. My mother just got out of the hospital and cannot wait until tomorrow. Suddenly, they found a time for today and when I asked if I should call the office instead, was told 'that's not how it works'. When I asked if we have the same issue again, what would happen and she said 'it's way too early to be dealing with this right now' and hung up on me.

horrible experience
I was there on time and told I could not be seen because I had not been there a half-hour earlier - something they never asked me to do. The receptionist was unbelievably rude and with a loud voice proceeded to humiliate me in front of the patients in the waiting room for not coming earlier. I'm still flabbergasted over this experience. I am not in good health at all and had waited 2 months for this visit. They couldn't have cared less.

Called his office, asked if he is taking new patients. Girls said yes depending on your insurance. Told her BCBS, she said they are not accepting new patients with BCBS. My co worker who gave me his name has the same insurance and just became a new patient with him a few months ago.

Doctor Carlson explains everything in detail. He is compassionate, cares and answers every question. His kind and friendly way make one feel at ease. As I become older it is important for me to have someone well educated who can steer me to other specialist Dr.s.... I love and respect doctor Brian Carlson! He is terrific.
