Real review.
Looks like someone left multiple 1 star reviews that are the same person over time and they just are not true. I have never felt more listened to and respected by any provider than I have with Dr. Akers. He went above and beyond helping me, reaching out to my other health care providers to make sure my plan worked with my other prescriptions and medical choices. You want one of the most brilliant psychiatrists I have ever met, look no further. Dr Akers is kind, thoughtful, and attentive. If something isn’t working, he will help you find what will without judgement. Best in the business.

Would recommend.
He did an excellent job making sure that I was listened to and getting a full understanding of who I was and what I needed. I was personally very impressed and happy to meet with him.

Very dumb, and has no business being in the medical field in any capacity. Condescending, and screamed my diagnosis at me in a very snarky demeaning tone

Dr. Akers is by far one of the worst doctors I have come across in my entire life. He is a poor representation of a psychiatrist. I can’t believe he was able to complete his residency at BJC because all of the doctors there are wonderful with the exception of him. He doesn’t give his patients the validation in order to grow whether that is through words of encouragement or facial expressions. He maintains a dry sense of humor and will never crack a smile. Our lives are hard enough. He needs to loosen up a bit. He over prescribes medication, and will increase your dose of medicine when it’s not necessary. He clearly doesn’t know what he’s doing. Dr. Akers will put himself on the spot by turning the focus on him, not the patient. He’s the type of doctor who will listen to respond, not to understand. Not to mention, he lacks cultural awareness, which makes him look like an absolute fool. He’s the type of doctor who carries too much pride within himself which takes away from his profession
