Dr. Lonze is one of the leaders, academically and clinically, in the world of transplant surgery. On top of her superb credentials (MD and PhD degrees from Johns Hopkins), she has an excellent bedside manner, explaining research and treatments in a clear and concise way. She supervised a study I participated in featuring patients who developed life-threatening lung failure from COVID-19. I consider myself very lucky to be a part of this study and I hope it yields useful research. Thank you for all your great work, Dr. Lonze.

She is just about the best doctor I've met. But a surgeon who's an actual human being? Incredible. Every bedside visit was a minimum of a half hour, frequently more. Every question answered and more. She's great. So good that she will be my point person in New York, as she just moved to NYU Langone.
