Dr. Benjamin Widmer, MD

Had problems raising my right shoulder full over 3 years. Started giving me shots until they start not working anymore. He took me in for surgery and now I can lift my arm over my head no pain just during physical therapy but that's run of the course I would highly recommend this doctor for any shoulder pain shoulder problem. And yes he's a miracle worker.

The office staff was friendly and attentive. Dr. Widmer listened to the history of my elbow tendinitis and discussed several options. He was confident in the decision that we made together and we discussed the next step (surgery) if that decision didn’t solve the problem.

I have been in Dr. Widmer's office many times. My last visit was preparatory to another shoulder replacement. Once again, my experience was the best. Dr. Widmer gave me all of the personal attention that I required. I spent more time waiting for X-rays than I wanted, but that was a very minor concern. As soon the imaging was complete, he visited me shortly. He put in place additional surgery preparation that demonstrated his confidence and competence. I look forward to the Widmer team fixing me again.

Both Dr. Widmer and his PA came in the exam room to consult with my husband and I regarding my fractured right shoulder. Both were extremely patient and helpful. They explained that the humerus seemed to be returning to its original position and a wait-and-watch policy was the prudent direction to go. They assured me they would follow my case, see me again in 3 weeks, then again in 2 months to make certain the fracture was healing properly. If surgery were required, we would have another discussion. Three days after that office meeting I rec’d a text from Dr. Widmer thanking me for coming into his office. How can you not love a physician like that ??

I had rotator cuff surgery on June 8th. I had my first follow up PT visit since the surgery. My physical therapist said my range of motion was much better than most which was a reflection of the excellence of my surgeon. I had four large tears that Dr. Widmer repaired. Dr. Widmer examined me during the PT visit and gave me good guidance for my recovery. He is an excellent surgeon and very affable and engaging in conversation about what to expect. I would highly recommend Dr. Widmer.

He advised on cortisone injection and how often safely allowed. Recommended possible MRI need before further injections.

My reverse shoulder replacement surgery on May 16, 2022, was performed by Dr. Widmer. More than two weeks later, I am still amazed and astounded at the results. I've experienced only some stiffness and soreness but almost no pain at all. I have a great deal of movement and can easily do my exercises. I feel great. Four years ago, Dr. Widmer operated on my other shoulder doing another reverse replacement. He did such a great job that I trusted him completely to do my second shoulder. Dr. Widmer is very attentive and listens carefully to my questions and concerns. He took the time to explain everything throughout the entire process.
