Dr. Benjamin Bjerke, MD

I was referred by one of my customers who noticed I was in pain walking. She left a phone # I called later that day to see what it took to get an appt. I got in the next morning. I was not pressured into surgery but was told to schedule when I was ready. A few weeks later after not being able to keep up with the guide on a hunting trip I called and got in within a few weeks. Surgery was fine I was walking pain free after just a few hours of the procedure. Now 7 weeks out I'm good to do whatever I feel I can. Dr. Bjerke has been great and I would recommend him highly!

Very down to earth surgeon who took great care of me. Highly recommend him for any back, neck surgeries. When I went to him with terrible pain on c4-c5 he told me I needed surgery, he let me make my own choice and said when you know your ready you will come see me. Best decision I ever made wish I would have came to see him sooner. Best surgeon for this job.

We absolutely loved Dr. Bjerke and his staff. Very thorough on explaining what diagnosis was and how he was going to correct it. After care follow up went very well.

My appointment today was a 6 week follow up with Dr. Bjerke. I was referred to Dr. Bjerke by my primary care physician due to sciatic nerve pain related to a herniated disc! Dr. Bjerke explained all my options. I tried medication first but after increasing pain and trip to ER a microdiscectomy was performed! It relieved my pain and was well worth it! Dr. Bjerke was very professional, answered all my questions and thoroughly explained the procedure. He even texted me the night before surgery! I would highly recommend him!

After an Ambulance Ride to the ER and some Test the Last thing I ever expected to hear from the ER Doc at 37yrs old was they had called a Spine Specialist to come speak with me. I was scared and worried with 1000 questions until Dr. Bjerke walked in. He was kind and caring and assured me everything was going to be okay! As a mom of 5 who has been completely healthy my entire life, not even a broke bone, my only concern was being able to keep up with my kids very busy activities after having this surgery. I experienced some leg numbness and a mild form of Foot Drop. Dr. Bjerke offered every form possible to help with this. He isn’t a doctor who just pushes you off with meds or says let’s try this first or this. He goes straight to fix the problem!! I am 7wks post surgery, returning to work with no restrictions and about 85% back to my PreSurgery Self. Dr. Bjerke is amazing at what he does and I firmly believe you will not find a more caring and knowledgeable doctor.

Dr. Bjerke is the best. I had lower back pain from a disc & a previous surgery. He talked me through everything from start to finish and eased my mind, bed side manner is excellent, and you can tell he loves what he does. He fixed the problem vertebrae and replaced the old hardware below that flawlessly! I’m 7 weeks post op and I already feel brand new! I def recommend Dr. B to all!

I became a patient of Dr. Bjerke's after dealing with excruciating neck, upper back, arm pain with numbness radiating down my arm and into my hand. I decided to move forward with CDR surgery after trying other treatments that weren't fixing the underlying issue. Dr. Bjerke is an absolute blessing! It is obvious that he loves his work and truly cares about his patients. I've never had a doctor personally check up on me between visits and truly listen to my concerns & questions. The surgery took approximately 2 hours and included an overnight stay at the hospital. After 2 to 3 days, I was completely off all pre and post surgery meds. Within a week, I was meeting my goal of walking 10,000 steps per day. I was also able to return to work at my office type job within 3 weeks. I am completely pleased with my decision to move forward with surgery. I feel like I have my life back again!

Dr. Benjamin Bjerke is an outstanding surgeon. He treated me like a person that was important to him and not just a routine that he was performing. He performed surgery on my spine, explained everything that was going to happen. If at anytime in the future I have problems with my spine in other areas and need surgery I definitely want Dr Bjerke to be the surgeon.

I am absolutely amazed not only by the way I feel but also by the level of care I received. Dr. Bjerke was absolutely incredible. His bedside manor and professionalism were the best. He is kind and understanding. He was very thorough with his procedure and explanation on what was to come and my incision looks amazing. I was very scared about having major surgery and he and his staff made me feel at ease and kept a line of communication open for me and all my crazy questions and concerns. Thank you and your team!

I was impressed with his work and after 9 months of being in pain and suffering! I’m 6 weeks out of 2 vertebrae replacement and I feel better than I have in 9 months! He is a great doctor and was helpful and honest about my options and I so glad he was willing to help me and explained to me and my family what to expect! His bedside manner is top notch! I feel like he is a wonderful person and doctor and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for relief and advice from neck pain! My Aunt was also impressed by his wisdom and understanding and she has been a RN for over 35 years !! I glad that I came to the Jeffersonville office!

Dr. Bjerke has Medical Talents and a Kindness that are such a Blessing to me .My Pain was ruining my quality of life. Today , after only 5 weeks and 3 days , I am ready and able to Ride My HD Motorcycle and my Horse , again .. I get to get on with Living ...Yahoooo.. Two Replaced Disc Spacers and a Few pieces of Hardware and YEAHHHH. !!!THANK YOU !!! MY DR. , MY FRIEND

After suffering for nearly 10 weeks and being sent all over as well as two emergency rooms, I was referred to Doctor Bjerke. I had an MRI done and even though the Radiologist told Dr. Bjerke that the MRI was fine, He pursued the issue until he found an infection. He put me in the hospital immediately and got me on the long road back to recovery! I told him he was God sent! I highly recommend him!

I had spinal surgery and Bjerke did great I was up the next day. I wish I would have done it sooner.

From the start until now I had the distinct feeling I was the only patient Dr. Bjerke was seeing.

He is a good doctor but it seems to me the only thing he wants to do is surgery I wait over a week for a appointment and he did nothing for me and passed me on to pain management I have arthritis in my back and I just wanted a shot of cortisone he did nothing for me

From the moment I met Dr.BJerke, he made me feel like I didn’t have to endure pain like I had been for months! He explained in detail about my procedure! I wasnt nervous or scared! Having to go thru chemo, he knew the process of what I needed to do. Taking a particular chemo drug, I had to have it out of my system for 28 days! As soon as it started he give me a date! We didn’t have to wait! He was forthcoming! He never made me feel like I was “ just another person with a hurt back!” He is definitely someone I would tell anyone that has any back problems, where to go to! He has the ability to make people feel like they know him personally!

Performed a fusion on me in Nov 2020. I was having all sorts of issues after surgery. He did a few of my follow ups said everything was ok looking in the x rays. I went to call back and was told my his drs office he was no longer there. I was stuck in a situation with no dr to go to!!!!! I had to have revision surgery after 2 years. Do not recommend surgery failed and he left me high and dry with no notice or suggestion on where to go next!

I saw Dr. Bjerke after enduring years of back pain. My discomfort finally got to the point where I was desperate to find help. After a quick examination, Dr. Bjerke ordered the necessary MRI tests. Then, my wife and I went in for his evaluation. Dr. Bjerke showed us exactly where my problem was; and offered various approaches for relief. He explained thoroughly and didn't push for any decisions. We chose to go ahead with spinal fusion surgery. I was pain free and walking the very next morning! We're over 6 months post-surgery and I feel great. I can't say enough positives about the experience.
