My first and ONLY meeting Dr Tohmeh was early Oct 23. After a brief physical exam he determined that he could help me by doing surgery. Twice in Jan, I made appointments for follow up questions with Tohmeh. Both appointments were canceled by their office. I requested that the pre-op forms be provided to me prior to surgery, request refused. Pre-op appointment; secluded, given two videos starring Dr. Tohmeh to watch and two sets of forms to sign. The videos comprised of a list of excuses blaming the patient if surgery fails. Pre-op consent form had 28 possible injuries; each had to be initialed. I signed everything. Dr Tohmeh did not attend the pre-op session. With no exam, further testing, or consultation with Tohmeh, my surgery was canceled by his team leader claiming a new diagnosis. Do a search on Tohmeh for legal action before committing to surgery.

My first and ONLY meeting Dr Tohmeh was the fall of 23. After a brief physical exam he determined that he could help. His nurse, Cheryl Somers, was not present. Twice in Jan, I made appointments for a follow up with Tohmeh so that I could ask questions. Both appointments were canceled, I assume by Somers. Somers assured me that at my pre-op visit that she would answer any and all questions. I then requested that the pre-op forms be provided to me. She refused. Three months after seeing Tohmeh I went to my pre-op. Secluded, given two videos starring Dr. Tohmeh to watch and two sets of forms to sign. The videos, a list of excuses blaming the patient if surgery fails. Pre-op form had 28 possible injuries; each had to be initialed. Dr Tohmeh hides behind ARNP Somers who could not answer the questions. Dr Tohmeh did not attend the pre-op session. With no exam, further testing, or consultation with Tohmeh, ARNP Somers canceled my surgery and gave me a new “unqualified diagnosis”.

Back Surgery
Dr Tohmeh is the best surgeon I have seen since I injured my back in 1988. I would recommend him to anyone who has ever had a back pain problem. He treats you like a person not just in how many patients he can get through in a day. He listens and talks to you about what you are going through with your back pain. Highly recommended

Dr Tohmeh is a fine surgeon. He fused L4-L5-S1. I had to convulse for 4 1/2 months. The surgery was a total success. I have talked to many people who have had a back surgery that turned out poorly. Just about everyone of them did not follow their doctors instructions. My wife was having severe back pain. We met with Dr Tohmeh. He said he would not work on my wife. For him to work on he back with so many bad vertebrae there would be greater than a 25% rate of failure. We agreed with him. He stated "I am sure you can find a Ortho Surgeon to do the surgery but, I won't". He referred us to Dr. Dawley for a spinal stimulator. I worked so well the she realized her hip hurt. The back pain was masking the hip pain. So, she got a new hip.

Does not listen very well. His staff do not follow up. It's been two weeks since they were going to get me a referral but nothing so far. Placed 4 calls and received one response. No response in the last 10 days.

I heard good things reg Dr. Tohmeh so I decided the six-week wait to see him would be worthwhile. Not the case. After meeting his assistant, Cheryl, I should have followed my gut and found another provider straight away. I chalked it up to her possibly having a 'bad day.' After a 3 month game of cat and mouse, 3 MRIs, a nerve study and 1 nerve block that was ordered incorrectly (with steroids? but I'm allergic), I recieve their exit letter that they're leaving the practice 2 weeks later!

I would not recommend Dr. Tohmeh. While he may be a very good surgeon, he doesn't show any concern or compassion. He blows off patients questions instead of answering them. I kept telling him on post surgical appts that I was still in a lot of pain and he would say "oh, so you're fine?". He doesn't listen and he doesn't seem to care. His assistant is rude and tactless. I thought the patient was supposed to come first. Before the doctor's ego. He even sends inaccurate reports to physicians.

It's been some time, 15 years give or take, but I chose Dr. Tohmeh for my laminectomy as I had heard he was the best. I did, and still do, believe that! After surgery, I felt ready to get up and dance! OK, it took me a few days but I felt soooo good I forgot all about PT (but I heard about that later on....). Now I hear my niece has a similar issue and I am so happy to hear she has chosen Dr. Tohmeh. I may have to see him again in the future, and you can count on it that I will chose him!

Using XLIF procedure, Dr. Tohmeh did a decompression and fusion of L4-5. Pain is gone and my back once again feels normal. I was skeptical of back surgery after having read the horror stories on the internet, but you can mark me down as a believer in Dr. Tohmeh. He is a fine surgeon, and my outcome is evidence of that. Before this surgery I could hardly walk across a room without buckling in pain. Now, five months after the surgery, I'm out mowing the lawn and pain free.

I was suffering with horrible back, extremity pain & numbness, and was unable to find answers with other physicians. Dr Tohmeh listened, saw I definitely had neurological issues, took the time to compare slide by slide, the multiple MRI's taken in the course of 4-6 weeks. He called and told that he "now knew" exactly what was happening, and yes, he could help. I have had WONDERFUL results long-term. You couldn't find a more qualified and caring physician anywhere. HIGHLY recommend him!
