Dr. Cortez is very professional as well as compassionate and sincere. I felt instantly at ease and assured by his demeanor and the way he spoke to me. He answered all my questions and is very competent. Best doctor/surgeon I’ve ever dealt with. My surgery went well and I am so thankful for him.

I went to Dr. Cortez about a serious operation. There was a lot of problems that could go wrong. On the first visit he said he'd do the operation. Told me to lose some weight and come back in 3 months. Lost the weight and came back. After the greeting he started staring at his phone that had my information. After about 5 minutes I asked him if there was a problem. He said yes! He told me that he wanted to go back East and become a professor at a Ivy League School! I asked him what does that have to do with me. He told me that he didn't want me on his resume. Now I could understand his comment. But what I don't understand as why when I got my medical records why that he lied and said after the first visit I never came back. I called the surgery Department and they have the records and confirmed that I was there twice!

Very smart, very well-educated and trained, yet wears it so lightly--doesn't intimidate or overpower or lecture, though he's eminent enough to get away with it. His manner is soft and kind, yet you know he's got your problem under control. Really easy to talk to & get answers from. Well-regarded by his colleagues & staff & much loved by his patients. AND he cured my melanoma--A++.
