Right hip replacement was perfect

Dalal was dismissive and arrogant from start to end in all my appointments. Neither he, his resident nor his staff helped in getting my MRI until I went to the bosses at SSM. I was told multiple times by his office I had to have physical therapy for the MRI to be approved. Each time I had to remind them they'd already referred me for PT and I had completed it. They told me he won't call them back to get answers and he would never call me back. My MRI was denied and the MRI folks said all they needed was a phone consult, which he never provided despite them calling and faxing his office saying what they needed. He missed the window to appeal the denial and I lost another six weeks of getting treatment. I spoke with other provider personnel in his group and at SSM and was told he's a problem. For me he's more than a problem, he's a disaster. For your own good, don't use this guy.

Dr. Dalal was great! Took x-rays and recieved a cortisone shot at visit. Knee is feeling great. No delay in helping me & listening to my issues. Recomended another doctor for my Piriformis Sydrome. Very Happy with Dr. Dalal

Very professional and he has heart am thankful

Look. I didnt hire Dr Delal for his personality. I wanted a Dr. who knew what was up....and did his job with laser intensity. I always ask the nurses who they would use and most likely thats the person to see. So, I asked and this is who i used. I have no regrets. My recovery was very fast and I can ski with complete trust..the hip is absolutely solid. My husband needs a hip replacement and we're totally bummed he is no longer in Tuscon...If it was workable I would hall my husband to California, he's that good.

I was treated poorly by Dr. Dalal. I came in with hip pain and told him at the beginning of my visit that I did not want a hip replacement right now. He said, well you are not a candidate for surgery because of your weight. And the conversation went down hill from there. He only concerned himself with my weight and did not ask any questions regarding my pain level or pain management. He did not talk about a plan of care or even a plan to see me again. Just that I needed to lose weight. He even asked about my other hip replacement surgery -"were you 100 lbs lighter then?" Are you kidding? This is the worst treatment I've ever received.

Horrible. Dr. Dalal requested “stat” MRI. I had the MRI the next day, on a Tuesday. I received the results via email from the MRI lab. on the following Thursday. When I did not hear from his office by Fri. , I called his office. The MRI still had not been read. I am going to take myMRI results to another health care provider.

No empathy, no solutions. I would go to another knee specialist. Disappointing because my mom had such a great experience at TOI a couple years ago.

I could not be more pleased with Dr. Dalal! I had a lot of questions about the surgery, the pros and cons, and the recovery. Dr. Dalal was so honest, thorough, respectful of me and my concerns and took time to compassionately answer and explain everything. I would, without hesitation, recommend him.

I would not recommend this man to anyone I know. I am in need of bilateral knee replacements. I am in constant severe pain because I cannot take pain meds due to a corn allergy so I deal with it on a daily basis. Because of this and the fact that I am overweight [40 lbs] due to not being able to be active as I was, this man walked in the room, had already determined he wasn't helping me and did nothing but yell at me about my weight and allergy. No patient should be treated this way.
