All reviews are confirmed and audited before publication, and community members have the ability to flag inappropriate content for further review by our team.

While Dr Mubarak is knowledgeable, his staff is awful. They rarely answer the phone during business hours and never return voicemails. I consistently have to call several weeks prior to my routine appointment to ensure lab orders are actually sent to the lab. Same for refills; which is utterly ridiculous. If you need a hepatologist, I recommend avoiding all the headaches you’ll inevitably encounter at Dr Mubarak’s office and find someone else.

I have seen Dr. Mubarak once, he order a procedure and then the Friday before my Monday appointment I get called that the time of my appointment is also another person’s appointment time. I have been calling all day to figure out what to do and no one answers the phone or will return any of the 3 messages I have left. Not feeling very comfortable being a patient of this practice at this time, but would like to get my test results at the least.

Dr. Mubarak is very kind. Explains your condition and his planned treatment. I think he’s one of the best hepatologists in DFW. The front office staff leaves a lot to be desired.

Dr Mubarak is a great doctor. He explains things in a way you can understand. He refers you out if it’s not his field. He knows the best Drs in Dallas. Great bedside manner and really cares about his patients. Only complaint is his office staff. They never answer the phone and rarely returns calls. For sure need to make some change or retrain staff.

I would highly recommend Dr. Mubarak. I was extremely sick when we first met 2 years ago. He has helped me go from a 28 MELD for cirrhosis to today my MELD is an 11. He is easy to talk to and he listens! He has saved my life and for that I am extremely grateful for him.

He lied to me about needing a surgery on a hernia and he broke HIPPA laws by discussing my care in the lobby in front of my son, another patient, and his receptionist. STAY AWAY

He's nice enough, but his staff does not answer the phone, and doesn't seem to listen to the content of voicemails. Easy enough to get an appointment, but be prepared to wait a while past your appointment time, even if you get the first one of the day. He's polite and knowledgeable, but don't expect to spend much time with him.

Dr Mubarak was good, but the support staff doesn't return phone calls. I called three days in a row to make sure I had the right appointment time and no one Has called me back yet. Note that his Plano office is not marked with his name and the support staff never tell you that.
