Rude and dismissive physician
This man was disrespectful and extremely rude. He made me feel as if I had wasted his time.

Incompetent
I’ve been seeing him for a few years due to epilepsy. I was recently hospitalized with septic shock, was in a coma. I went to Dr. Dinar for a follow up. I asked about memory and cognitive issues I’ve been having. He began to yell at me, saying he doesn’t know anything about that since he only treats my seizures. (Which is only bc that’s the only neuro issue I’ve had so far.) When I went home, I checked the Cleveland Clinic website, which clearly says brain damage is a complication of septic shock. A neurologist should know this, imo. As a patient, and a nurse with 16 years experience, I don’t trust him as a physician.

Never Again
I had a terrible visit with Dr Dinar. I was having weakness in my left leg and arm and was having trouble walking along with other issues and my primary care was worried about MS. I was limping badly. He literally shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t know what you want me to do, your exam is normal”. I requested a spinal MRI as the neuroradiologist who read my brain MRI had recommended it-he said it wouldn’t show anything but if I demanded it, fine. In the notes he said he recommended cognitive behavioral therapy. (NEVER said that, and seriously? The assumption is I’m making this up?). The spinal MRI showed a badly herniated disc that explained all of my symptoms but he never followed up-I had to reach out and request a referral to neurosurgery myself. Finally, at physical therapy my therapist said that she didn’t know how he could say my exam was normal when literally everything she examined/tested was abnormal. Wish I had read the other reviews prior to my visit. Avoid!

Stressful experience
My second visit and my last. Dr. Dinar got irritated and impatient because I asked questions that in his opinion were not strictly related to memory issues I was having. I asked them because I wanted his opinion as they could relate to my condition. He obviously was bothered by my questions, started to raise his voice and made me feel totally stressed to the point that I wasn't able to relax for the rest of the day finding hard to believe that I had such experience with a doctor. I guess patients are not allowed to ask questions anymore. We also discussed a medication he would prescribe because I am familiar with it but he called in another one without telling me. Even if similar, he should have discussed it beforehand.

From awesome to… not so much
I have no idea what has happened to this office but it’s not positive. I arrived and I stood at check-in for over 15 mins and no one would help me. No one acknowledged me at all. Finally I had to ask for help. Once seated, I waited to be called for 75 minutes. After 60 mins I went to the check in and stood there without an an acknowledgment. The lady didn’t even look at me or say a word. Once I was finally in an exam room, my procedure was so much more painful than usual and my injection sites oozed the solution into my eyes and right ear. I do not know what has happened but this practice is no longer professional. To make matters worse, he seems unusually focused on my weight, just like other reviewers have stated. If you would like to feel terrible about yourself, make sure you come here!

Dr Dinar decided by the way I described my dizzying experience that my problem was my ears. You don’t have a loss of vision from your ears. He spent less than 5 minutes with me and wrote me a prescription I didn’t need and never told me what the prescription was. He never asked any questions about my vision loss or about the pain in the right side of my head.

Visited Dr. Dinar with transient weakness/paralysis in my right foot. He ordered some nerve studies and a brain MRI. The MRI revealed a 3.5 cm tumor, which he then totally dismissed as inconsequential to my case. I still have no idea why, since my symptoms were indeed consistent with the presence of the tumor (left side parasagittal meningioma). It was subsequently removed at a major neurosurgery center. His advice was a pure miss, and any further delay in treatment could have led to a less positive outcome. The abysmal communication experience along the way made it even more painful and complicated. This care did not meet a minimal bar for a practicing neurologist.

Absolutely not! Did not listen to what I was trying to tell him. He just kept telling me my problem was the “aging process and arthritis” gave me a Rx and never told me what it was for 2 months later I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease by another neurologist. By that time I could hardly walk, went many nights with no sleep along with many of the other issues that go along with PD I felt like I was losing my mind. No I’d never recommend him.

Unfortunately the worst doctor's experience- he walked in, hadn't looked at my chart; took one look at my hands and said "I can't help you, there's nothing I can do." Very brusque, no suggestions or concern at all. I sat there for a minute (in shock) and the nurse came in and told me to leave. Awful.

The staff was very friendly and professional, but the doctor was not. He dismissed my symptoms, decided to focus on something other than my main problem, and declared his findings about neuropathy in my foot before I'd even taken my shoe off. He also declared that my main issue was obesity, despite the facts that it was never mentioned in-person, and I was not even weighed (I am not actually that overweight). Extremely unprofessional and fat-phobic. This doctor gave me grief for using a powerchair when I am unable to walk, instead of trying to offer any solutions.

Great staff all around from the receptionists to Dr. Dinar’s nurse to Dr. Dinar himself. The office put me at ease and the doctor took his time to listen to my concerns and history and took the time to explain results. I was very impressed and would recommend anyone to check out this neurologist.

This was my 2nd visit with Dr. Dinar today and I brought a friend with me because I have memory issues (which I discussed with him the first time). Today he came in the door angry, no, 'hi, how are you?' Was trying to *not* shake _my_ outstretched hand and was angry that he relented. ...then he spent the entire time...angry. He even did the neurological exam angry, checking my reflexes more like hitting me with a baseball bat. Never seen or experienced a doctor ever do this. Was angry that I was there in his office. Left angrily (of course no handshake). Friend with me said she'd never go to him if she needed a neurologist. I'd never seen or experienced such an angry doctor in my life and I have way too many medical conditions. Then, my paperwork listed my 'issue' as...'obesity'. Alrighty, I hear why you are angry Sir -- though know that it was caused by the medical system by my thyroid ablation. If you are overweight, stay away from him. His STAFF are wonderful. him? no
