I was a victim of the Veterans "health system." In the early 2000's, I survived 4 surgeries perpetrated by the VA, each one of which was a repair to damages done in prior VA surgeries. After the last one, I was told that nothing more could be done for me and further action would prove fatal. I did the best I could to avoid another surgery, but in 2009 I went into a crisis state and I met Dr. Keith Martin. Thank GOD! He ran a series of diagnostic tests and discussed the results with me. The only option was surgery -- and it was going to be ugly. It was. On April 4th, 2009, Dr. Martin saved my life! And I don't say that lightly. He told me that the only way to describe the surgery he performed was that he "eviscerated" me. There were some severe damages inflicted on me by VA 'doctors' and that some mesh installed by the VA was strangling several organs; he had to remove the mesh AND removed those organs, reinstalling them in an "anatomically correct" fashion. Dr. Martin is a Godsend!

Excellent doctor with amazing skills; Unfortunately, staff follow up leaves a lot to be desired. Very disappointed with a recent occurrence that will cost me, the patient a significant amount of money. My recommendation would be to follow up on your procedures by calling the scheduling department and verify with your insurance company that pre approval has be given.
