Dr. Kristen Pepin is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She is a specialist in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery with a passion for helping women with fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, pelvic pain and infertility. She has expertise in surgical and non-surgical management of these conditions with a focus on minimally invasive approaches. She has a particular interest in laparoscopic total abdominal cerclage and hysterectomy/oophorectomy.Dr. Pepin received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honors Society. She then went on to her residency at Brigham and Women's/Massachusetts General Hospital, teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School. She stayed on at Brigham and Women's Hospital for her fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. She also pursued a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Pepin has been nationally and internationally recognized for her research on minimally invasive hysterectomy. She has a particular interest inresearch on hysterectomy outcomes, tissue extraction techniques and disparitiesin surgical treatments within women's health. As the Director of the Multiple Myeloma Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, my duties will focus on providing outstanding clinical care and coordinating a world class clinical translational research program. Prestigious investigators have joined forces to create one of the leading centers for myeloma research. I have no doubt that this cooperative effort forms one of the best myeloma research groups on the World. My 25 years of experience as a myeloma physician has helped me to appreciate how important it is to treat patients in the context of a comprehensive and individualized program. New York Presbyterian Hospital has an outstanding Bone Marrow Transplant Service (a treatment modality often used for myeloma patients), performing more than 100 transplants per year. It has also been rated the best in the world in the fields of cardiology (heart), neurosurgery and nephrology (kidney). The Hospital for Special Surgery, also part of the New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell system, has an outstanding group of orthopedic surgeons that support a new comprehensive bone disease program. In addition, as part of our continuing search for more effective therapeutic options, we offer multiple clinical trials utilizing promising new drugs and medical procedures for treating myeloma and related hematological disorders. The ultimate goal is to find the cure for multiple myeloma. The establishment of a free standing Multiple Myeloma Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center is an important step towards the accomplishment of this goal.

Dr. Vanessa Valerie Pena is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who provides comprehensive care in all aspects of general Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is dedicated to providingthe high level of gynecological medical attention all women deserve in any stage of life, including well woman and preventive care. She is proud to be able to help women prepare to start their families and guide them through their pregnancy, whether low or high risk, in a friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere. Her mission is to treat every patient at a personal level, with dignity and compassion, while providing the best care possible.Dr. Pena received her medical degree from Universidad del Noreste, Tampico, Mexico in 2000, where she was awarded an "honorary distinction" upon graduating for being the most outstanding student in her class. She then did her internship and social service in Mexico and obtained her medical license in 2003. In 2004, she moved from her native Mexico to New York to start her residency at St Vincent's Hospital Manhattan, which she completed in 2008. While in residency, Dr. Pena was awarded "The Compassion and Charity in Women's Health Award", "The Martin L Stone Society Research Award" and "The Excellence in Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Procedures Award".Dr. Pena has been active in international education programs, including teaching updates in Obstetrics and Gynecology to doctors in Latin America. She worked as an Attending Physician in afaculty practice at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan and New York Downtown Hospital prior to joining the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College. She has been Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2010 and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is fluent in Spanish.

"I believe that pregnancy is a natural if unique phase in a woman's life. My job is to assure that each pregnancy is proceeding normally and intervene if it is not.
