Dr. Richard C. Hershberger is a board-certified vascular surgeon with extensive training and expertise in vascular and endovascular surgery. After completing his General Surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Dr. Hershberger pursued a two-year fellowship in vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Following his fellowship, Dr. Hershberger joined Loyolas faculty as an Assistant Professor, where he contributed to clinical research and trained future vascular surgeons. His publications include book chapters on managing traumatic arterial injuries and complications of aortic surgery, along with numerous articles focused on vascular surgery and patient management.Outside of his professional work, Dr. Hershberger has been involved in humanitarian efforts through medical mission trips, including to Papua New Guinea, Nepal, and Zimbabwe, where he has helped clear airstrips, build infrastructure, and provide critical medical care to underserved communities.
