Dr Kubal is an associate member in the Moffitt Cancer Center Malignant Hematology Department. He completed his hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of South Florida at Moffitt Cancer Center, completing an MBA concurrently at the University of South Florida. Dr Kubal's research and clinical interests are in myeloid malignancies with a particular focus in acute leukemias. In addition to his clinical efforts, Dr Kubal serves as the medical director of process excellence and is focused on continuous improvement of the patient experience.Dr Kubal serves as Senior Medical Director of Moffitt at Wesley Chapel, and practices full time at the Moffitt Wesley Chapel campus.

Dr Komrokji is the Vice chair of the Malignant Hematology Department and the head of the Leukemia and MDS Section at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is a senior Member of the Malignant Hematology and Experimental Therapeutics Program at the center, and a Professor in Medicine & Oncologic Sciences at the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida. After earning a medical degree in 1996 from the Jordan University School of Medicine, Dr Komrokji completed an internship and residency at Case Western University, St. Vincent Program. He then completed a fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, in Hematology/Oncology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.

Dr Christine Sam is an Assistant Member in the Department of Individualized Cancer Management/Senior Adult Oncology Program. Dr Sam received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at University of Michigan Health Systems in Ann Arbor. She completed her Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center/University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. Dr Sam's primary clinical interest is the treatment of cancer in older patients and developing care plans tailored to their individual needs. Her focus is the treatment of breast, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary malignancies.

Dr Blue earned his MD at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee. Dr Blue completed an Internal Medicine Residency in the Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri, and d a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship in the Department of Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr Blue recently completed a Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Blue's clinical interests include treatment of plasma cell disorders and evaluation of patients pre and post bone marrow transplant. His research interests include reducing health disparities and improving health outcomes for plasma cell dyscrasias.

Dr Walker received her MD from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Rochester, New York. She joins us from The Ohio State University, where she served as a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology. Dr Walker's clinical interests are in the care of patients with myeloid malignancies, specifically acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. She is particularly interested in identifying ways to deliver care that maximizes resource utilization and achieves superior patient satisfaction.

Dr Rachid Baz is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who came to Moffitt in 2008 from Cleveland Clinic. Currently, Dr Baz is the Myeloma Section Head in the Department of Malignant Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center and co-Director of the Pentecost Family Myeloma Research Center. He has developed a special expertise in managing patients with plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), plasmacytoma, primary systematic amyloidosis, and Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (WM). Among other awards, he was the recipient of the Junior Clinical Science Award at Moffitt, and the University of South Florida Outstanding Resident Teaching Award.

Dr Pinilla-Ibarz has been at Moffitt since 2006 and holds the rank of Senior Member and Head of Lymphoma Section in the Department of Malignant Hematology. Dr Pinilla-Ibarz received the 2016-17 Moffitt Physician of the Year Award. He was also the recipient of the ASCO young investigator award in 2003 and the ASCO career development award in 2007. Dr Pinilla-Ibarz is nationally and internationally known for his expertise in chronic leukemia and he currently has over 120 peer-reviewed publications. He has received grant support through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and also from multiple industry partners. His clinical interests include chronic myeloid leukemia and chronic lymphoid leukemia.
